The students at our school represents a population consisting of 100% African-American students. There are 152 girls and 169 boys from Kindergarten through fifth grade. These children are inner city residents that come from low income families. The majority of the student reside in government assistant apartments (section 8 homes), where violence and crime are not unfamiliar. For most of these students, school is their safe haven where they have comfortable shelter, food, and educational opportunity. These children face many economic and social challenges. However, our students are bright and naturally talented, who has shock the world with their drive and outstanding tenacity to achieve academic success.
