Chicka Chicka Read Read!
Funded Sep 10, 2013Thank you for the beanbag chair, take-home books, and Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree. Every morning my students come into class and cozy up with books on the beanbag chair. They recite words from books like Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. They are demonstrating early reading skills each day during this morning routine.
They just love the Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree as well. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom is one of their favorite stories. They love to put the letters on the tree, while pretending to read the story.
The take-home books you funded help me provide parents with books to read at home with the children. The parents and children let me know they read these books with their children each night. You have helped my children on their paths to becoming life-long readers and learners. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for your kind donations.”

A Rug to Help Us Catch the Learning Bug
Funded Aug 21, 2012My students and I would like to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for the gorgeous rug. It truly brightens up our pre-k classroom. The children are so excited to have the rug. They love the colorful pictures that go along with each alphabet letter.
The rug helps the children learn their letters too. As I teach them their letters, they love to point out the letters they just have learned on the rug. The children's faces light up when they show me a letter they recognize.
We are so very grateful for our new rug. Our room is much more child-friendly and learning the alphabet is so much fun because of you!”

Take Our Library Area Out Of The 1980's
Funded Dec 15, 2011Thank you so much for your generous donations of the beanbag chair, big pillow, books on CD, and wireless headphones.
Every morning when children arrive at school, they pick books from our library and sit on the pillow and beanbag chair. The pillow and beanbag allow my students to get comfortable as they cozy up with some good books. They talk about books I have read to them with their friends, pretend to read, look at the pictures in the books, and in some cases really read the books. I enjoy listening to them engage in these early reading behaviors, and see them get excited about books and learning. The children also use the headphones to listen to some of their favorite stories. A particular favorite is Goldilocks and The Three Bears. Listening to stories on CD is not only enjoyable to my students, but will help them become life-long lovers of books and learning.
You have provided my pre-kindergarten learners with materials that create a cozy place where they can discover the joy of reading! Again we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

Help Kindergarteners Find Their True Colors
Funded Feb 1, 2010Thank you all so very much for your kind donations. My students and I are so grateful for the paints, crayons, and scissors. Cutting paper has become so much easier with the child-friendly scissors you helped to bring to our class. The old scissors we had were very hard to cut with, and the children would often struggle with them. Now, cutting doesn't hurt my students' hands.
My students used the paints to make gorgeous posters with tips about how to help the Earth for Earth Day. The paintings as you will see in the photos I post, are so creative, detailed, and beautiful. I was so proud of their work that I hung them outside of the classroom for the school community to see. The children had a blast painting and were so happy to see their paintings in the hall.
Thank you all again for bringing art and creativity to my kindergarten classroom. My students and I are looking forward to many more art projects with our new supplies.”

The take-home packs you funded will come at just the right time as many of the children's folders have become torn from use since September. My students and their parents will appreciate having a more sturdy folder for notices and books. Thanks again so much for your donation.
