Our Computer Lab Is Lit!
Funded Dec 26, 2024Thank you so much for your help to fund my class project. It is a blessing to see people coming together to support and encourage teachers like me in the classroom. These privacy boards will help scholars remain focused while taking tests, or for those scholars who desire to have their work area with limited distractions. The minivac for computers will make my life easier with quick cleanups and keeping our computer keyboards clean and sanitized. Your willingness to donate to our project shows my scholars that so many people care about their education and want them to succeed. It also shows them that there are kind people with caring hearts. Thank you for making all of this possible! We appreciate you!!”

Funded Jul 26, 2023Thank you for donating to our class project towards our printer. Our printer was greatly needed. Unfortunately, the school's printer is always broken or if it is working, there's long lines. Having our own in the classroom cuts down on time waiting on line, and if something needs to be printed out immediately, it is easily accessible to us.
What is most exciting is we get to print our work immediately and we can print in color. We are able to work on projects like reports and research papers, send them to our teacher and Ms. Mathis can print them out for us. Also, if we are doing a lesson and some scholars need extra support, I am able to differentiate the lessons by having the work readily available by printing the material.
Your support is greatly appreciated!”

Funded Nov 30, 2021My scholars are using our resources to help enhance our lessons. We use them while working in small group instruction, or while working with a partner. I will use a particular kit to focus on a particular skill in class.
Scholars were so excited to receive new resources. They could not wait to help me sort the material. The syllable resource is a big hit. I had to make a sign out sheet and use a time limit on the usage of this activity. I must say, they have a better understanding of syllabication.
We have included these reading resources into our daily lessons. I even use the resources in my afterschool classes. I have so many children on different reading levels. I have a resource that covers grades kindergarten through fourth grade.”

Funded Sep 17, 2021My scholars and I use our Diversity & Inclusion Daily Practice Journals everyday. We are currently working on Week 2 which is all about "My Identity." We are completing daily lessons about what makes us unique but also understanding how we are all the same. One particular lesson we wrote about is called, "What Makes Us Unique." We found out many different things about our classmates and found out that we are all unique in special ways.
Not only do they love the daily journals but they also love the Reading Comprehension Cards, which they use while working in different (differentiated) groups. This activity allows them to work together. They were very excited when they saw the resources that not only helps them improve their reading skills ,but they also have fun while learning.
We will be using all of the resources continuously throughout the year. It is my hope that these resources will improve their comprehension and confidence. I would love to see my early readers advance a grade level before winter recess. Our next steps are to continue incorporating the Diversity & Inclusion Journals into our daily morning routine. Once all of the activities are completed, I will have some well rounded scholars.”

Zooming in on Lessons
Funded Jul 24, 2020I apologize for the late response. This past school year had many challenges. I really appreciate your donations to my project. It has helped me teach my class virtually as well as "meet and see" my scholars even though it was not in person.
My scholars were more than excited about school even though it was much different than what they were use to. They loved the fact that I could scan books to read to them which brought our lessons to life. They got to interact with our lessons.
This project was a blessing to my classroom. It helped open our eyes to a brand new way of learning. My quiet and shy students were able to actively participate whether they had their cameras on or not. They were able to see the lessons and provide feedback without being pressured. Once, again I truly thank you all for your time and generous donation towards my project.”

Getting Comfy While Learning
Funded Jun 18, 2019My scholars love our stools. Not only do they keep our busy scholars "relaxed" and "moving" but moving in a positive way. It helps to keep them steady and on target rather than falling out of their regular chairs. Some scholars use them while sitting at their desk.
When my scholars received their stools they were amazed. They loved the bright neon green color which matched my room decorations. They also loved that the stools moved but did not fall. Everyone wanted to use them, they became so popular.
You helped supply my classroom with sensory stools to help my scholars who have trouble sitting in regular chairs. I am in the process of submitting another project which will help us with remote learning now and into the next school year. I would like to add a webcam and microphone to help with my virtual lessons which should make the transition a little more smoother for my scholars.”

Funded Mar 6, 2018We are truly grateful for your generous donation of our class headsets These headsets help us in many ways. We have computers in our classroom. We also have the opportunity to use Chromebooks.
During the week we work in groups/stations. We needed the headsets for our computers for different reasons. One reason being privacy. We did not want to disturb our partners during work time as well as the other groups.
Several of my scholars need differentiated instruction. Some have problems focusing and staying on task. Having these headsets helps to block out the surrounding noise which allows my scholars to focus on their task.”

Ms. Mathis
