Today a Reader, Tomorrow a Leader
Funded Sep 18, 2024I cannot thank you enough for your support and encouragement. Your generosity will now enable us to expand our library with wonderful books that will not only help my students become better readers, but better leaders.
All of the books will be cherished by my current students and my future students to come. I can't wait to receive them and start implementing them in my lessons.”

Funded Aug 3, 2023Thank you so much for your support in making our project come alive. These kits proved to be invaluable as they reviewed many concepts from this year and the previous two years. With our big California Science Test (CAST) that my 5th graders take in the spring, these kits will continue to be of great use in the future years to help prepare for the CAST. Some of my students' science scores went up, and I had some students achieve high scores on their state science test!
The students can use these kits with a partner or in small groups and they are easy to put together. While some kits required some prep, they were overall straightforward which made it effortless to set up, which is a huge plus for a teacher. Students made observations, documented data, and even made mistakes, but they persevered. After completing their activities, students felt validated and had a sense of accomplishment because they were able to describe the process and purpose of their activity and what they learned.
We were able to accomplish more science this year because of these kits. Students got to use these during small group time or independent work time which allowed them to get extra science review than what they would've received without them. Also, since many students didn't remember much of the science they learned in the previous two grades, these kits allowed them to get more practice and review, since we otherwise wouldn't be able to.
These science kits were a great addition to our curriculum. These kits proved that hands-on activities in any subject matter gives confidence to all students, no matter their ability. I could tell my students thoroughly enjoyed these kits and it is with great thanks to you that my future students will also be able to enjoy them.”

Funded Oct 4, 2019Thank you so much for our Flex-Space Mobile Trapezoid Table and Flex-Space Mobile Standing Desk for Two. When my students saw the desks put together in the classroom, they were really excited to use them! We were fortunate enough to have been able to utilize these tables before we went into sheltering-at-home and distance learning.
We used the Standing Desk as an area where students could go to use the laptops to do various assignments and activities. Eventually, this desk turned into a student work desk. We used the Trapezoid Table as a small group table, where my aide or myself, would work with a small group of students at a time. Over time, this also became a student work desk. We had to rearrange the room to make space for various activities and these desks both became highly sought-after by the students to sit at. The Standing Desk and the Trapezoid Table were put to good use!
We are looking forward to returning to the classroom so we can continue to enjoy using the Standing Desk and Trapezoid Table! My students use technology quite frequently and work in groups, so these new desks will continue to be wonderful additions to the classroom.
Thank you again for supporting my class and allowing us to have a successful school year.”

Funded Aug 7, 2019Thank you so much for supporting our classroom. Your generosity allowed us to get our wonderful chairs, which greatly impacted my classroom in such positive ways.
My students were eager to receive the chairs, so they were very surprised and excited to see them at their desks when they arrived back to school from Winter Break! My students have not once complained about these chairs, which tells me that they are loving them! Every single one of my students are able to sit in these chairs comfortably and have immediately noticed how the chairs fit everyone, regardless of their size. They have also noticed how quiet the chairs slide across the floor, which has made the noise level of the classroom quieter. The chairs do not easily fall over and are easy to carry around to our outdoor assemblies.
These chairs surround our classroom as they are at their desks, at our small group table, and at the computer desks. I am so thankful to now have enough good, sturdy, and brand new chairs for all my students.
I can tell these chairs will last many years and be around for my future students to enjoy. I cannot thank you enough for your support and kind hearts. I look forward to your support in future endeavors.”

Funded Jan 23, 2020What a wonderful way to start the new year! My students and I are so thankful for your support in helping us get the Tech Tub for our classroom. We cannot wait to use it to store and charge our devices, so that all students will have equal access to them. This will not only help us ensure the devices are charged and kept in a safe place, but it will allow students to do their activities, such as coding, research, assessments, and other games on fully charged devices.
We look forward to receiving our Tech Tub and putting it to great use!”

Funded Dec 12, 2018My students and I would like to thank all of you for your generous donations. Your support has meant so much to us, because my students are really enjoying their new chairs and floor cushions!
Currently, almost half the class are using the chairs and they love them! First, they are not only sturdy, but very lightweight. When they put their chairs up at the end of the day or have to take them out to an assembly, they are easy to lift and transport. The students are also sitting comfortably without worrying that the bottom or the back support will break. The students also noticed immediately how quiet these chairs are. No more screechy sounds as chairs scoot on the floor. These chairs glide across the surface of the floor quietly! The floor cushions are an added bonus! I have several students who prefer to sit on the rug to do their work. Having these seat cushions add more support when they sit, as the rugs alone don't add enough cushion while they sit.
When they students saw the new chairs and floor cushions, they were extremely excited and couldn't wait to use them. They've been through many years of uncomfortable chairs and this year alone, they've been through chairs breaking. Their faces lit up when they noticed one morning they were set up and ready to be used. We are hoping to get more of these same chairs so the rest of the class can enjoy the same comfort as some do now. It would be great when all my students are equally sitting and learning in comfort!
My students rotate having opportunities to use our new chairs and floor cushions, since we only have twelve chairs and 6 floor cushions. Our hope is that we get more to complete our classroom. These chairs and floor cushions have been wonderful additions to our classroom, as they help students focus in class and are able to work better in partner and/or small group work, since these are easier to move around.
I am so thankful for your support! Whether you just found us or have been a continued supporter of our classroom, you have helped make a huge difference to my students this year and I am so grateful they got to experience the kindness of others.”

Putting Kids in Control of Their Learning
Funded Oct 10, 2018Thank you very much for our Flex-Space Mobile Round Table, Flex-Space Mobile Rectangular Table, and Flex-Space Comfy Round Classroom Carpet. My class has been enjoying the use of each of these wonderful additions to our classroom.
When they saw the big boxes arrive, they couldn't wait for them to be opened and put together! Once they finally were, it was like we had a new classroom, as had more space and our room seemed more inviting! We were able to walk through our classroom with more ease.
The Flex-Space Mobile Round and Rectangular Tables not only created more space in our classroom, but have allowed students to work with partners and in small groups with more ease. My taller students are finally able to sit at these tables comfortably.
The Flex-Space Comfy Round Classroom Carpet is now an area where students can come to read or complete their assignments independently without much distraction. They appreciate this special place that we didn't have before.
My students and I can't thank you enough for your support and we are so appreciative of our new furniture. We look forward to having more additions to our classroom that will continue to motivate us to learn and grow!”

Funded Aug 23, 2018Thank you for donating to this project! I am able to use my Multi-Media Work Center with ease. Not only am I able to store and use my projector and document camera on a compact cart, but I am able to move my Center with ease. When needed, I am able to smoothly roll it around to where I need it to be used or to be set aside and out of the way for my students to sit on the rug. It may look small, but it fits everything I need and more without looking cluttered. The locked storage allows me to keep various things safe. My students love coming up to the Work Center to display and demonstrate ideas. They are also able to see whats projected on the screen better because the cart can move farther, thus allowing the image or video to be wider and easily seen.
Our Room Divider Library Mobile Shelf is currently storing our mentor texts, manipulatives, and English Language Development texts. It is able to roll around the room with ease and has breaks so that it can stay put. My students frequently go to the shelf to look at various texts, use manipulatives, and retrieve their English Language Development texts and activities.
My students and I thank you for our two important pieces of storage and equipment in our classroom that help with convenience and organization. We use them on a daily basis!”

Funded Oct 20, 2017Thank you very much for your support and generous donation to my class! My students and I are very appreciative of your donation towards our classroom library. These picture books that have been bought with your donation have been vital to my students' learning. I use these books on a daily basis as mentor texts, in which I don't just read the book aloud to the students, I use them purposefully to teach various academic skills. While these books may be used for different subjects, I have used them to teach specific reading skills such as theme, main idea and details, perspectives and point-of-views, and problem and solution. Many of these stories also provide ways to teach social skills, such as kindness, acceptance, and respect. What my students and I also love is that many times these texts can be referred to more than once to teach another skill, which in turn, teach students that you can notice and learn new things if you read a story more than once.
After I've introduced a book and read it aloud to the class, I place the book in our library so they have a chance to read the book on their own. I love how our library has grown with the addition of these mentor texts. Thank you again for supporting this project for our class!”

Funded Oct 10, 2016Thank you so much for providing iPads for my students. They are having so much fun working on them. They've been keeping busy with their coding practice and projects on the iPads for the past few months now and they've even participated in the Hour of Code! They were so eager to get onto the iPads to complete their projects and to complete the Hour of Code.
My students are able to rotate using these and have been able to complete two coding projects. It has been awesome to see how excited and motivated they are to do coding! They are having fun playing games, but at the same time, learning an integral skill that could be used later in life in a promising career field.
Many of my students are very interested in a career field involving video games, so having practice with coding further encourages them in this field. More students are realizing that there are more career opportunities that relate video games than they thought!
Although summer is coming upon us and my students will be moving on to middle school, my hope is that they continue to participate and play these coding games on their own and their skills get more improved.
Thanks again for allowing my students to accomplish something new and different this year. For some, this has changed their lives forever!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Liu
