• Helping Students Stay Organized & Focused

  Thank you very much for your contribution to my classroom! With your support, students have the physical materials necessary to stay organized and have all the things they need to be successful in my classroom. Oftentimes, students have organizational issues which prevents them from being prepared and ready to learn during class time.

  These folders, file boxes, and pencils will ensure that students have everything they need for class in the classroom, so if something happens, all of their work is available for them.

• Fostering Critical Thinking with Ayn Rand's Anthem

  Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom. With your help in delivering this unit for my 9th grade English class, I am able to have the class read an easily accessible and complex novel for them to have multiple conversations about.

  The students will be read this book and begin thinking about the individual's various conflicts with society, and explain whether the main character of Ayn Rand's Anthem made the right choices for himself and his community.

• Building Generational Wealth, One Share at a Time

  Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom. With your help in delivering this unit for my 12th grade English class, I am able to have the class read an engaging and accessible book for students to have complex conversations and writing projects about.

  The students will be read this book and begin planning how to build generational wealth over time for themselves and their families. By the end of the year, students should have a solid understanding of their long-term plan and present it to their friends and families.

• Empowering Students to Write Their Own Chapters

  Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom. With your help in delivering this book circle unit for my 12th grade English class, I am able to assign books appropriate to each student's interests and needs. The students will be eager to begin reading books that have been chosen for them that they may not have read before.

  The students will be assessed on their ability to assess how professional writers tell their own stories as a way to get them to think about the how narratives work. This is the first step in having students develop ideas for their college essays in November.

  The students will be assessed on their ability to participate in various socratic seminars around what makes friendships work, if the line from a friendship to a romantic partnership should ever be crossed, and how events in a person's life can change a static person into a dynamic one. Furthermore, they will refer to the events and characters in this book to write a series of essays on its major themes.

With your help in delivering this book circle unit for my 9th grade African American History class, I am able to assign books appropriate to each student's interests and needs. The students will be eager to begin reading books that have been chosen for them that they may not have read before.

  The students will be assessed on their ability to connect the bigger themes, dilemmas, and social issues addressed by the characters in the book through lenses provided by Progressive Era Black thinkers and activists - namely W.E.B. Du Bois, Booker T. Washington, Ida B. Wells, and Marcus Garvey.
