Making Math Meaningful and Science "Sense"able!
Funded Sep 21, 2022Thanks again for your support and donations. We are loving our new resources.
We have used the bulletin board paper, tape, and ziploc bags during our Animal projects. Students selected an animal that they wanted to research. They used the bulletin board paper and tape to make collages about their animals. They used the tacky glue, tape, and pencils to write and display information about animal needs, habitats, and special characteristics. The projects were shared and enjoyed by parents and our school community.
It was also great to see my students that are usually shy when they have to orally present, flourish and blossom using art as a way to communicate their thoughts, ideas, and learning. Thank you for helping to make that a possibility.”

Funded Sep 29, 2022I can't begin to express my sincere thanks for helping my scholars get their hands on these nonfiction texts. The real-life photographs and kid-friendly language are so engaging and adds to the learning in our Kindergarten class this year.
My scholars are using the Let's Find Out magazines in many ways. Some scholars engage with the magazine during their independent reading time. Then they move to partner time where they get to discuss what they have read and learned. Some scholars use the magazine as a resource during research projects. We completed a unit for Veterans Day and many of my scholars read books, watched videos, interviewed family members that are in the armed forces, as well as, used the Let's Find Out issue about Veterans Day. They were so engaged.
In addition, I have sent the magazines home with my scholars. They share the topics and learning with their families. It offers them a great jumping board for family discussions around real-world topics. These magazines, by far, have helped increase my scholars' vocabulary, helped them extend their prior knowledge, and sparked their curiosity. Thanks so much for helping to make that possible.”

Funded Jul 18, 2022These carpets are simply amazing! My students really enjoy sitting on them during our morning meeting, read aloud time, and during small group work. Many students are constantly pointing to the numbers and letters on the carpet while they practice and reinforce letter recognition and number identification.
Needless to say, both carpets add to the ambiance of our classroom and works perfectly with our color scheme. They make our classroom look lively and inviting.
Lastly, I think the carpet area is one of the most favorite and most visited places in our classroom. The students meet with their peers on the carpet. When they need a brain break, they can lay down on the carpet or just sit for a few minutes. The students also use the carpets as learning tools for reading, writing, and math.
We are so grateful! These resources are such a necessity and a huge help!”

Funded Apr 19, 2022Thank you so much for making learning and reading fun and meaningful in our Kindergarten classroom this year.
Many of the decodable books were on the reading level of my students. The topics peeked their interests and kept them engaged in reading and dialogue. Partner reading came alive because students were so invested in sharing what new words they learned from the text. They were excited to take the books home to read and share them with their families.
These decodable books were also so helpful during our guided reading. I was able to teach spelling patterns, sight words, fluent reading, and many comprehension skills. These books made a huge difference during our reading block and the end of year reading levels improved for most students this school year. We are forever grateful for these resources.”

Terrific Teaching Tools to Take Learning to the Next Level
Funded Mar 1, 2022Thanks again for your generous donation to our class project. We were so excited when the boxes of materials arrived. These resources have really been so helpful in promoting reading, fluency, and comprehension during our reading and word study block.
My scholars are so eager to share the leveled, decodable books they have in their independent book baggies. During literacy center time, my scholars enjoy working with the phonics letter tubs with a partner. I have noticed the enthusiasm and ownership over these resources. It has been so much fun hearing the laughter and learning that takes place as my scholars practice their skills during independent time and small group work.
These resources have made small group work more engaging. I am able to meet with more small groups because I have these resource to distribute to students for independent practice. But, by far, the most exciting is seeing the faces of my scholars as they partner read decodable text. Nothing is more rewarding as a teacher than seeing the look of confidence on a student's face as they identify the letters and letter sounds. We are forever grateful to you for helping to transform the phonics, reading, and learning that now takes place in our classroom.”

Funded Jan 30, 2022My students (and their families) were so excited when they received their hat, scarf, and glove sets. They were equally excited to receive the snacks and play doh.
These resources could not have come at a better time. The timing was perfect! We have had a few cold and chilly days. These hat, scarf, and glove sets are just what my kiddos needed to help keep them warm. It has helped during our outside recess as well. Each student has their own hat, scarf, and gloves to keep them warm as they run and play.
Many of my kiddos have chosen to leave their play doh in their center bags at school so they can practice making letters and words out of play doh. I think that's so cool!
After working so hard and playing so hard too throughout the day; it's so great to have those snacks available for an afternoon pick me up and energy booster. My students know they can grab a quick snack if needed as they power through until dismissal.
We are extremely grateful for your kindness and generosity.”

Funded Nov 6, 2021My scholars were super excited when they saw their see-inside pouches and School-to-home organizer. These resources have really been a game changer this school year.
The see-inside pouches are amazing for storing their just right books for independent reading time. It gives them a secure place to hold their books. It also makes it so easy for them to meet with a partner to talk about books. They are so much more independent.
The school-to-home organizers are a big hit— especially with parents. Parents love how everything is organized in one place. My scholars love how it's easy to find their homework materials all in one place. I am happy that their homework notebook and books are protected from spills that often happen in a Kindergartner's bookbag.
Lastly, I can't express enough how grateful I am to have the webcam. It allows us to take virtual field trips to so many places. It allows the entire class to engage and enjoy museums, libraries, zoos, and an upcoming virtual trip to The Pajama Reading Program. It's going to be super exciting.
Thanks for your support and generosity.”

Sit Down, Relax, Get Comfortable!
Funded Sep 28, 2021Thanks again for helping to bring this project to life. These resources have been so helpful in our learning journey this school year.
We have used the pocket folders and flair pens during our writing workshop. My scholars have been motivated to create personal narratives and label their pictures because they really enjoy writing with their flair pens.
We have used the ink to help print take home books and sight word flash cards for scholars to study at home. They enjoy having their own copy of the text. It fosters ownership and independence during our reading workshop and phonics study.
Your generosity has really helped me my Kindergarten students move forward in their learning with joy, pride, and focus.”

Funded Aug 13, 2021We are so grateful for your donations that fully funded this project. This project meant so much to my scholars and their families. It helped so many families that were struggling to get uniforms and school supplies and other necessities for their scholars. This fully funded project for uniform shirts really helped to ease that burden.
My scholars were so happy when they received their shirts. The next day all of my scholars showed up wearing their uniform shirts. They looked so amazing. They felt a sense of belonging to our class and classroom because all of our scholars were wearing the same shirt. They thought that was so cool! It really helped to boost our classroom community and moral.
Currently, we have a project posted for new furniture in our classroom. We are hoping to get that project funded as well to help continue to build classroom community and organization.”

Funded Aug 17, 2021Wow! Thank you so much for fully funding this project. My scholars were so excited when I shared the news. They were even more ecstatic when the materials were delivered to our classroom.
Now, they are able to find alphabet games, sight words cards, and leveled readers easily and efficiently. Now, they can be more independent; which frees me up to meet with small groups to provide extra support.
Our school year is off to a great start thanks to these resources. We are so looking forward to the rest of the school year! We are so grateful fir your generosity.”
