Week of the Young Child Activities
Funded Feb 23, 2021Thank you so much for your donations. Even though this year's Week of the Young Child was so different from previous years, since most students were attending school virtually, we were able to have a drive-by celebration. It was so exciting to see the children's joyous faces as they received their bags full of materials for indoor and outdoor fun activities. The students that were on campus, were so excited to have fun with all of the items included in their baggies. Thank you for making them feel so special.”

A Cleaner World Around Me
Funded Dec 1, 2020I want to thank you very much for becoming a part of a much cleaner and safer environment for my very young learners. Your donations have made it possible for me to feel better about having those few children attend our in-person classroom. However, know that moving forward, as things begin to get back to normal and more children begin to fill the classroom, this will continue to make an impact for them and for years to come. The children are very happy to use the automated hand sanitizer and are inquisitive about the air purifier. It gives them something to talk about with their parents, which in turn, makes their parents more comfortable in sending their children to school. So, once again, thank you so much for your generosity.”

Funded Oct 1, 2020Thank you for your generous donations. The I-pad and Apple pencil really helped me with my distance learning classroom. Although Covid-19 did not allow me to utilize the items the way I originally intended to use them, I was able to use the I-pad and the Apple pencil with many online activities with my students. They allowed me to model activities for both the students and the parents that monitored their children.
I know that when we return to in-person learning, I will continue to utilize the I-pad as part of some very important language arts and mathematics activities. I will also be able to add this extra I-pad as part of my learning centers. The students really love to use the I-pads and become more active and interested learners because them. They are useful tools for all learners but especially important for those that are still struggling with the written or spoken language. Thank you for being a part of the educational experience for these early childhood learners.”

Funded Aug 9, 2020Thank you for your generosity and for taking part in this future impactful project. Because of the current circumstances, we were unable to utilize the resources as they were originally intended. Although Covid 19 did not allow us to meet in the classroom, I was able to help a couple of students in providing them with the flexible seating items to aid them with their situations with at-home learning. Both they and their parents were very excited when they were provided these items.
I know that once we go back to face-to-face learning, flexible seating will allow my students to take a more active role in their learning. It will make learning more enjoyable for them. It will also allow me to organize my classroom creatively to maximize my students' learning experience.”

Funded Aug 11, 2020I want to thank you from the bottom of my Heart! Just by looking at my students with a big smile on their face, when I gave them their string bag full of materials for their distance leaning, was priceless. The parents were also very appreciative as they were given something for their children that made the start of their first school year, a memorable one.
My students are very excited every time we meet during our virtual class. They really enjoy the playdough as they form letters, numbers, and their names. The dry-erase board was also a big success. The kids use it to demonstrate mastery in their language arts and math portions of their class. The magnetic plastic letters are also a big hit with the children.
Thank you again for making a difference in the lives of these first-time learners.”

Funded Jun 2, 2020This year has been a very difficult school year for most parents, students, and teachers. With the current distance learning format that we, along with so many other schools around the nation and around the world were thrust into, being able to bring a smile to both children and parents for the upcoming school year, was truly amazing. The Cricut Maker system allowed me to prepare a personalized welcome package for the students, welcoming them to the new "virtual" school year. The children were very happy to receive the welcome package filled with many necessary school supplies that we are going to use throughout the school year, and all in a nicely personalized backpack. It was truly an exciting way for me to bring the year to great start for these early childhood learners. Both the children and the parents were so happy to receive this gift and it demonstrated the care and commitment that I have for each child's education and well-being.
Moving forward, I plan to use the Cricut Maker system to enhance our classroom with many creative and personalized activities. I plan to have my students participate in the design and creation of t-shirts that they can use on special occasions. These t-shirts will not only give the students a sense of pride and ownership in our classroom, but it will also showcase the children's creativity. I am hopeful that these t-shirts will be a jump start to the children's interest in developing their creativity. After these t-shirts, I plan to continue to work on designs and labels for other t-shirts, face masks, bottled waters, and other school supplies. Most of these items will be used directly by the students and I know they will use them with a special sense of pride and enjoyment, knowing that they had a very special part in the making of these personalized items. Some of the items that will be made with the Cricut Maker system, will also be used to create personalized items that the kids will give out as gifts to their parents for special occasions such as Christmas and Mother's Day. If field trips are going to be a part of our school year, the personalized, backpacks, face masks, and water bottles will come in very handy in keeping everyone's belongings safe. The special t-shirts will make it easy for me to keep track of all of my students in whatever area we go on our field trips.
Although this school year is very different from all of my other school years that I have taught, one thing that hasn't changed is the children's curiosity and their love for personalized items. The Cricut Maker system will allow me to bring a smile to these young learners as they take part in making some incredible creations that they can take home and keep as a lasting memory from their very first school year experience. The corona virus has put a damper on the normality of our school year. I had planned to do so many things with the Cricut system and I wanted to include a class photo with the children showcasing several personalized creations. However, with the current social distancing regulations, I have not been able to achieve this, yet. I am confident though, that as we get back to the classroom, I will be able to use the system in the ways I had originally planned.”
