Funded Mar 3, 2019Thank you for your generosity in helping my students have access to keyboards for our Music Theory classes. Students are now able to practice the piano in class because now we have working keyboards! They have been working hard on learning their scales, chords, and piano pieces, and I am blown away by how much the keyboards have helped their musicianship and musicality. My students were excited to see the new keyboards as our old keyboards have been falling apart left and right. They were eager to set it up and start using them, so as soon as we got them in the mail we unboxed them. I'm so grateful to see my students engaged in our subject, and I have you to thank for helping them get what they need in the classroom. Thanks again!”

Funded Jun 2, 2018Thank you so much for your generosity. I teach music theory in my class so that my students can hopefully develop into well rounded musicians who not only know how to play their instruments but also have a strong foundation in musical notation and principles of musical harmony. Thanks to your generosity, I am able to do that better in my classroom.
In our class, the text books you helped to purchase have been providing my students with clear explanations on how music works. Sometimes my students use sections in the book as a reference after I finish giving a lecture on a particular topic or sometimes they might read a section of a book as a preview to an upcoming topic we will be discussing. Either way, the textbook is of great use to our students.
Some of my students are especially enjoying the books. I have students who are interested in careers in music, and so they are eating up this information, often reading beyond the assignments. I wouldn't be able to present this information as well without your generosity, so thanks again from the bottom of my heart.”

Funded Mar 26, 2018I wanted to take a moment to tell you how much your generosity has impacted my classroom. As a choir teacher, my goal is to provide my students with a variety of singing experiences that hopefully open their mind to new ways of thinking and open their hearts to each other as we collaborate extensively to create musical performances. Thanks to your generosity I can provide that experience through new repertoire that specifically involves bells and the students are thrilled to making such exciting new music.
When we first opened up the case of hand chimes, everyone wanted their hands on one. Once the students were handed on, they immediately wanted to experiment with it. They wanted to see how loud and soft the chimes were, if they could make songs on the spot, and what would be the best way to play it. They were so excited, and I can say definitively: We are many weeks into the semester and they still are.
The hand chimes give our choir a chance to sing repertoire they have never seen before and this semester, we are singing an aleatoric piece with hand chimes that the students are really excited to perform for our Holiday concert. I can see the excitement in the room grow every week as soon as I pulled out the hand chimes from office because they know we are going to work on "that one piece with the bells". And it's pure joy seeing students excited about the class activities and about collaborating together musically.
Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for supporting our classroom.”
