  • Financial Literacy With a Touch!

    Funded May 6, 2019

Thank you so much for your donations. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. My students are now more focused than ever, engaged in science and math lessons, and creatively generating QR codes. My students with emotional and learning disabilities have completely opened up to me and the other students. They are more willing to collaborate with their peers, a breakthrough for this school year. I am beyond proud and thankful for this to happen. It is incredible how technology opens the doors for students. It becomes another means for learning in a creative way. Thank you so much for making this happen.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Santos-Almeida

  • Discovering STEAM

    Funded Apr 6, 2019

Thank you so much for your wonderful donation. Students are able to be engaged with their learning which creates more opportunity for growth and interest in Science and Math. They are able to interact with their math and science textbooks by scanning QR codes and viewing tutorials. They are immersed in this new way of learning. Times are changing requiring a different approach to classroom instruction. This has been the best thus far, engaging my students, peaking their interests in math and science, and facilitating learning through small group instruction. Once again, thank you for everything.”

  • Instructional Technology for Learners

    Funded Oct 17, 2018

My students have been able to reach new horizons with the iPads. They have been able to participate in interactive Discovery Education lessons, complete their iReady, Reflex math, and Go Math online lessons. I am able to get data faster with their quick submission through the online programs. In return, I'm able to receive automatic feedback and tell which students need a retrace of the lesson.

Students have also been able to create QR codes as part of their STEAM projects. They teamed up in groups and wrote a summary sharing all the things they did to create a roller coaster. After recording their voices, they were able to turn it into a QR code with Vocaroo.

Once again, thank you so much for your generosity.”

  • Financial Literacy With a Touch!

    Funded Oct 14, 2018

I greatly appreciate your compassion and support for my classroom. Let me tell you about a few new experiences my students were lucky to partake in. First my students were able to work on their financial literacy project with guidance and scaffolding from Discovery Education Digital Learners. Students participated in working on the same live online document. They were able to see other students' responses in real-time. With this generation of kids used to instant gratification, this feature has made learning more interactive and engaging. Students are participating more than before. Again, thank you so much. This wouldn't have been made possible without you.”

    Funded Oct 15, 2018

I wish you could see the increase in student engagement in the Science, Math, and the Arts! I am so proud of how my students have taken the initiative and responsibility for their learning now more than ever. Technology really does affect how students learn in the classroom. I am beyond thankful, students are being challenged with STEAM activities and they are enjoying the lessons through the use of the iPad. Technology has increased engagement and participation. Thank you for allowing this to happen.”

  • iPads for Investigators

    Funded Oct 17, 2018

Thank you so much for your generosity and compassion towards my students. We are very lucky to have been given this opportunity. Students are using the iPads and learning 21st century skills. This is preparing them for the future workforce in areas of science and math. They have been creating QR codes using Vocaroo to record their voices and presenting it to their parents and other students. They are more engaged in the lesson and able to show growth. It's amazing! Once again we are thankful from the bottom of our hearts.”

  • English Language Learners Are Artists Too!

    Funded Oct 20, 2018

My students and I are grateful for the iPad. They have been able to communicate with each other in their STEAM research and create commercials. They wrote their skits in their groups and performed it in front of the class. After a few rehearsals, students were able to record their voices and convert them into QR codes. They were able to use the iPad to scan their codes to replay it for parents and other students. This helped students practice their speaking, writing, and use of technology. We are so lucky to take learning to another level.”

  • Tablet Detectives

    Funded Nov 5, 2013

My students have been enlightened with the use of the tablets. They are able to complete computer programs, take reading tests for books they have read, and conduct research for lessons in Science and Social Studies. My students are engaged and have been thriving with the use of the interactive technology. Thank you for granting us the opportunity to expose these children to new innovations and knowledge from beyond the textbook. It has expanded their abilities and given them more adventures to seek.”

  • STEAM Scientists

    Funded Aug 13, 2018

Thank you so much for donating the laptop to our classroom. Students were able to begin their research on creating a new city in "Planetopia." They were excited to view videos on Youtube to guide them in building cities using regular household materials. A group of students were able to use plastic water bottles to create a skyscraper in their city. The laptop has helped them search and brainstorm ideas that will help make them create a better city. This tool has assisted them in more ways than one.

    Again thank you so much,

Ms. Santos and her fourth graders”

  • Magnifying Words

    Funded Oct 22, 2013

My students feel blessed to have received the resources you have made possible for them. They have become interactive with the technology that was donated. The books have inspired them to create more literacy adventures in more novels. They are motivated and moved by such a generous act. This project has boosted my teaching by allowing the students to become interactive with their learning environment. They do not have technology at home. This has given them the opportunity to use and become technology literate.”
