• Calculating Success!

  Thank you so much for your generous donation! The students were so excited to receive the calculators. Your contribution is enabling them to calculate so much faster!

  In elementary school, they learned the basics of math but now in our accelerated classes, the work is so much harder and for a lot of the students, very overwhelming. The students who were able to use these calculators at the end of the year were able to solve problems much more confidently. They applied what they were taught and were able to see how their math scores went up which of course gave them incentive to work even harder.

  Now with a new school year, students are using the calculators alongside the lessons they are learning, and they are gaining so much confidence in their abilities. I am excited to see the tremendous impact the calculators will have this year! This is all thanks to people like you who invest in our students' future! Thanks again!”

• Fifth Graders can learn VIRTUALLY Anything!

  First and foremost... THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. It means the world to me and my class that you sponsored us. I had been putting off submitting the pictures and the thank you letter because I have been waiting for my students to return to class. As of today, they have not returned but a few of them will be here on Monday...FINALLY!!! I'M SO EXCITED!

  The donations that were received have helped to decorate and label the classroom, desks, materials cart. Although they have not seen the actual classroom yet, they got to see it through Zoom and they loved the pineapple theme. One of my kiddos said they felt like they will be relaxing on a tropical island every day when they are in class!

  The whiteboard has definitely been put to good use both when I was teaching virtually from home and now that I am teaching virtually back in my classroom. I display it when they "walk into my class" through Zoom with a good morning message and any news for the day, to do Math during the day, give them their homework before dismissal, and who knows how many other times!

• Let's Get Our CREATIVE Juicing Flowing!

  Words can not express how grateful we are that you donated to our class project to "get our creative juices flowing"!

  I had explained to my students what a Cricut machine was, how it worked, and even showed them several items around the classroom that I had made during the summer with my personal Cricut machine, but it wasn't until we opened the box that they were amazed! Once I plugged it in and they saw that it cut out the paper for the sample project all by itself they realized how fortunate we are to have received a Cricut machine, laptop and accessories.

  Since the Cricut machine arrived, the students' creative juices have been flowing! The kids in the Math Bowl team searched the internet for shirt ideas and designed our team shirts that we wore to our first competition in December. Several students would eat lunch with me each day to program the computer and cut out the titles for their Science Fair Projects...some students even stayed after school or came to school early to cut out their titles! They even got creative and made personalized Christmas ornaments as gifts for their families. Last week a student asked if she could stay after school to make a card for her mom's birthday!

  At the moment the ideas have begun to flow again as they are coming up with projects we can make for Valentine's Day. I can't wait to see what they decide!

• I'm Having Too Much Fun...Are You Sure I'm Doing Math?

  I wish to thank you for your generous donation to my classroom. The At-My–Seat Math Games and the Instant Math Learning Centers that you helped purchase for my students have been a huge hit in my class. The students love when they are given time to use the games once they have correctly completed their assignments. These games offer reinforcement in the everyday concepts and skills that we have learned in such a fun and exciting way for them. For some students these concepts have really "clicked" because of the way the games are played. I am so proud of how much they grown and am excited to see them excel when they get to 4th grade.

• Playing Games to Improve Reading

  I can not even begin to express to you my deepest gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. The Reading games and activities that you helped purchase for my students have been a wonderful new resource for them. The students anxiously look forward to using them each and everyday once they have completed their assignments. The concepts and skills that once seemed so abstract to them, have "come alive" in using these resources. I love to just sit and watch them as they play the games and see the smiles on their faces as they answer the type questions that used to bring blank stares.
