  • Homemade Learning

    Funded Nov 27, 2020

I am very grateful to have had this project funded! Not only did it support me as an educator, but most importantly it impacted my students learning at home. I was able to print and laminate some amazing materials to support hands on learning through this Remote learning process.

I was able to provide one of my special education students will some social emotional visuals to support her development in her home, as well as her time spent in a private daycare. For that, I am grateful.

For all of me students, I was able to send home reusable name tags, number books, alphabet matching cards, pattern mats and pieces, syllable counting cards, and so much more. I will be able to have students practice their early math and literacy skills through using these hands on materials during independent work times, as well as during my instructional times.

Again, I'd like to express my appreciation for generous donors within this amazing organization. Donors such as yourselves have shown a tremendous amount of support to teachers such as myself during this difficult transition into Remote Learning My students are receiving a better experience due to your kindness.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ouellette

  • "Backpacking" Into The New School Year

    Funded Aug 7, 2020

I wanted to let you know how much my students and I appreciate your donations to fund our project. The students have enjoyed working with the educational materials provided by this project. All of the students and families were thrilled to pick up these school materials to provide them hands on materials to work with during our daily virtual learning sessions. The students can engage in learning games, conversation with one another about what they're building and most importantly, they are able to manipulate these learning materials to make their learning experiences much more exciting. Students have been working on counting with the variety of manipulatives, tracing their tactile number cards, and working together with their families on building their large floor puzzles. To be honest, it was so heart warming to be able to provide a family fun activity which also had an educational value!

Generous donations from donors like you have been making great impacts on this adventure of virtual learning! I want to thank you again for supporting my students learning and enhancing my teaching tool box!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ouellette

  • Busy Hands Supporting a Busy Brain!

    Funded Jun 4, 2019

I wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you again for helping fund my classroom project, my students and I are so grateful.

Many of the materials provided for Busy Hands Supporting a Busy Brain have already been opened and put into action! Students are staying focused and practicing their fine motor skills while working on sorting colors through the use of the Tweezer Tong activity. The Mega-Magnet Consturction set has been a favorite morning activity. Students work together and individually as they develop their problem solving skills. The Fill It Up Fine motor jars have been popular as the students practice sharing and taking turns with the different activity jars. Games such as the Button Sorting Center and the Squeeze Scoop-Count Ice cream Shop will be used in future small group instruction times.

All of these fantastic games and materials support our classroom curriculum in so many ways. Not only the academics, but the children's social/emotional skills. Each game teaches students how to share and wait their turn. They also allow students to work together which builds strong team work skills.”

    With gratitude,

  • Future Problem Solvers

    Funded Jul 10, 2019

Thank you again for all of your donations to fund my future problem solvers project. The students were very excited to receive new materials for our science/sensory center. Not only do these new materials support the academics of our class, they also support the social skills many preschool aged children need to learn so they can build positive relationships with their peers.

The Water Way builders have been a huge hit. Together, students and teachers work on following the visual directions to build tubes for water to pass through. Team work and organizational skills are developed while students are engaged in sensory play.

The 2D and 3D shape builders were a perfect addition to the science and math centers. Children have been working on fine-motor skills, hand-eye coordination, shape recognition and motor planning skills while having fun with friends.

Students are just beginning to work with the Domino set. This is a beneficial set to use during our small group learning time while students are learning about cause/effect. I look forward to using this set as well as the Ramp set during our force/motion unit.”

  • Lifetime Learners

    Funded Aug 7, 2018

Thank you again for the generous donation to my classroom and students. When I showed them our new books and puppets, they were so excited and asked to open them and read the books right away. Many of the students were familiar with some of the stories, so while they were using the puppets they were able to share a lot of story elements while they retold the story. Students are now very eager to to visit our library center to re-tell stories, and they really enjoy trying to make up new endings.

Having the opportunity to manipulate story pieces has really been beneficial for my student's comprehension. Not only do they look at the illustrations in the book, they now have multiple means to reference at question time. These materials have allowed me to make read a louds more interactive.

Again, thank you for your kindness and understanding of how important developing literacy skills for young children is.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ouellette

These hands-on materials will support my student's in a variety of ways. Materials such as visuals and puppets allow children to become active in literacy. While they are just beginning, these materials will excite them and allow them to be independent story tellers. The non-fiction set allows students to analyze real life photographs about topics they are learning about. These books will be in their learning centers, as well as a part of the classroom library. A lover of books will become a lover of learning. As they grow and learn, my preschoolers will learn the importance of literacy forever!
