  • Wiggles and Writing

    Funded Dec 14, 2018

What a wonderful after winter break surprise! Thank you so much for your support, knowing that my classroom is important to each of you means so much to me. With these materials our Writer's Workshop will soar this year! Flexible seating impacts achievement in all curriculum areas, and now, we have enough options for everyone in our growing classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hopkins

  • Wiggly Bottoms, Engaged Minds!!

    Funded Jun 27, 2018

Thank you so much for helping me implement flexible seating in my classroom! My students have learned to choose a learning space that 'helps them learn better'. I have seen increased engagement, longer attention spans, and most importantly, joy! They love their seats! We use them all day in every subject! We use them for math, especially our lap desk (How much fun is it to choose a place in the classroom and work on finding missing numbers?) We use them for reading and computer, we use them for 'brain breaks', which make our bodies and minds strong. Dearest Donors, the impact that you have had on our classroom is immeasurable!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Hopkins

Imagine a vast field of wildflowers, each unique and each brilliant, the only difference lies in where they were planted. Some where planted in the perfect spot, with the perfect amount of sunlight and rain, they grow and bloom. Some sprouted from the rockiest soil, with unpredictable rain and sun, yet, they grow and bloom. That's my classroom! Students as diverse as wildflowers, growing and blooming together. I teach in a Title 1 school, which is a school that "ensures ALL children have a fair, equal, and significant opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach, at minimum, proficiency on challenging state academic achievement standards and state academic assessments (official definition). Title 1 schools primarily serve families that qualify and receive free lunch/breakfast. Some families are homeless, some are jobless, but all want the same thing that I do....to see their child BLOOM.
