Surviving Harvey via Science Escapes!
Funded Nov 10, 2017Thank you so much for your support. My students will enjoy the new materials as they explore science through various stations! I serve all grade levels at the school. This will make things so much easier! Our students need the hands on experiences these materials bring to our eager students!”

Will You Take the STEM Challenge?
Funded Nov 2, 2015Your donations have made an impact on my students. Technology is essential in today's learning. Students are so immersed in technology in every area. If we want to reach them, this is the way. It energizes them, and aids in higher order thinking skills.
The fact that this item was was purchased, gives an opportunity for the students to work toward a goal, then work with a team to be successful. The students are so excited to have this robotics kit.
In class, during force and motion lessons, it becomes an incentive to complete assignments so the students can work on building robots. The size and magnitude of the kit allows for many students at one time to participate.
Thank you for your generosity.”

Stepping into the STEM Lab!!
Funded Oct 21, 2015My students are so happy for the new materials you purchased. The materials make it possible for more ready made STEM and Science centers. The centers are student friendly and available to more students. In the past, I have had to create centers for small group sessions. Now with the additional materials, the students can easily access the content on their own. The storage containers make them appealing and pleasing to the eye. There are plenty of activities that the students may choose from. Everything is greatly appreciated.”

Science Leads the Way!
Funded May 12, 2014I am so happy to have received the materials you sponsored for my class. The materials help me plan more rigorous lessons in a much easier fashion. The students are all excited to have new opportunities to explore in my lab. The goal is to have a precise and complete hands on activity quickly, as time is limited. The kids really enjoyed the lessons, and the materials, as I am sure the future classes will as well.
Students are able to use the materials freely in the after-school program. They work in groups and choose from various kits and materials to manipulate and gain knowledge of science objectives. The kits work best with open choice, but students still use the activity books to choose their activities from. I also use these resources in my daily lessons.
I feel these resources boosted my teaching in a very realistic way. The having the materials at hand, lessened my hunting and gathering resources. The students' learning improves when they are actively engaged. All of the students are engaged when the resources are made available to them to choose from.”

Funded Oct 22, 2013My students were ecstatic about the possibilities the new materials offered. I always have eager hands in my lab that don't quite want to wait their turn for a chance to touch. The added materials were a solution to this problem. The materials arrived in a timely manner. Just as we began force and Motion, the boxes arrived. They were able to dive right in.
The kits and tubs were so complete, the students were able to divide into groups and all have a chance to choose an activity. There are specific objectives we have to be sure to hit, and the materials give us a base that ensures we are successful. I have grades k-5 daily, and the activities have to be varied. Sometimes, some grades are on different objectives, and the kits make it easy for me to transform the lab accordingly, from one concept to another, without too much set up time.
The materials you provided has helped me tremendously. I have not had to look for materials to pull together activities. Moving from electricity to force and motion, was very smooth. The newness of the materials are always interesting to the kids. Something they have not seen before. For this reason alone, they are much more attentive and work that much harder. Needless to say, learning has improved.”

Science Through the Eyes of the Young!
Funded Sep 15, 2013I want to thank all of you for your generosity. The materials were delivered very quickly. The students were excited to have the hands on magnetic boards. They allowed the younger as well as the older kids a chance to review the concepts of magnetism. My individual magnets were limited, so the kids were happy to have a magnet of their own and not have to share during the review. There were a lot of sequels and chatter with the engaging experiences they brought.
The science games in a can (Can Do Science) were also a hit. Some concepts have not been addressed yet but will be soon. The kids like the little can with a fun game inside. They will be placed in centers for independent study.
The gift of materials have given my science lab a boost by adding to the excitement that can be seen on the faces. As a teacher, it means a lot to me to have available for my students, what they need to be successful! Thanks again from me, my students and my school. You have truly made a difference!”

Funded Oct 10, 2012It has been a pleasure having this tablet for use in my class. The kids get a kick out of seeing themselves in action and in photos. I am very animated, an I have imparted those ways on to my kids. They are all creative characters who love to shine. There are never dull moments in my class, and now we can capture them. Videos and pictures are a fun way to recall the learning of concepts. Many math concepts have multiple steps, that sometimes get confused or get overlooked. When they see themselves, they can identify weaknesses. Thank you again for your generous donation toward our project. The kids and I both thank you.”

Funded Jun 28, 2012My students were very pleased to have received the addition of books that add to our literacy library. The books add a variety of texts that enable the kids to have more choices. They are always eager to pull a book during free reading, or center time. The added vocabulary really enhances their English language. The books allows the kids to have fun while reading books they choose and enjoy. I am sure that the exposure to the texts you so generously sponsored, will only give them a better edge on the state mandated test required of 4th graders.
Thank you all very much!”
