Serene & Clean: Floor Socks
Funded Aug 19, 2011Thank you for your generous donation to our chair socks project! Your commitment to the students of NYC has helped a class of 5th graders enjoy a safe, nurturing, caring classroom environment. The students are able to transition and work in the classroom without a lot noise and distraction. The organizer has helped us share community items. Thanks to you students can focus more during reading and test taking without the sound of screeching chairs. Our classroom environment is warm and inviting. The children really enjoy being in the classroom.
It is a known fact that students will struggle academically without a supportive environment and class management. During our workshops when students are required to move around the classroom many of them and myself complain about the noise of the chairs. In addition, the very ugly black scuff marks that remain on the floor as a result of the chairs sliding is not appeasing to our room environment. When you have 32 bodies in a room it can get noisy. These chair socks will help tremendously with minimizing the noise generated from student movement and allow students to stay focused on instruction or the task at hand. The organizer helps us store and share community items. Students are able to have independent access to community materials which adds to our daily routines and organized classroom.
These materials although small in nature has made a huge impact in our daily routine. It has allowed us to maximize our time in an efficient and productive way.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Williams
