  • Join Me in Meeting our Students Basic Needs!

    Funded Aug 15, 2024

Thank you so much for providing our students with items that allowed us to create a classroom care closet with items that they have been able to use daily or as needed.

Many of the hygiene products have allowed many of our students the opportunities to take care of their individual needs throughout the day with care and dignity.

The provisions of healthy snacks have provided them with energy boosters that in some cases held them long enough to reach their lunch period or a snack to take on bus ride home. Words fall short with the gratitude I have for your act of kindness to our students. Thank you! We all hope you have a wonderful holiday season.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Santana

  • Celebrate Black History...Our American History!

    Funded Mar 31, 2023

Thank you so much for providing the students with the materials that allowed them to create projects that celebrate their individualities in our diverse community.

This project allowed them to read about past and present African Americans who made contributions to American societies. During their shared time, they were able to be creative using visuals in order to retell what they learned. This was all made possible due to your contributions. We are all thankful with your kindness in helping our class with the materials we needed.”

  • Mentors As Reading Partners

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity.

The project has allowed my students to

Enjoy the selected books with their reading

    Mentor partners.

This has been an extremely rewarding experience to see my students enjoy the reading of new books I our classroom library.

many have continued to develop as readers at their individual levels and have read for enjoyment while sharing the time with a mentors who have modeled and have had mini book club experiences as they shared time together.

This is a project that will continue to impact students as they will have opportunities to continue this reading partnership with other selections available.”

  • Making Science Come Alive With Hands- On Activities.

    Funded Aug 10, 2022

On behalf of our students I would like to extend a warm holiday greeting and say Thank you so much for your kindness in donating to our classroom. Our science classes have come alive with hands on activities that you have sponsored on a weekly basis. These resources will continue to help other students when they reach the units of study.

Some of the resources will be used in our future units as we reach those benchmarks.

Thank you so much for your donations to this project, our students have enjoyed connecting what they are learning to real life applications through labs.”

  • Please Help Our Class Library Grow

    Funded Nov 22, 2021

We would like to send a heartfelt thank you for your generous donation to our class library project. I specifically work with a special education population that is composed of a variety of readers and the levels range from K-6 while being in the 8th grade. They had shown hesitance to reading and when the idea of selecting books to add to the library came up, they still seemed hesitant, but were excited to pick books that they would actually want to read.

Since the project was completed, we've had some challenges outside our own control with the need to be virtual periodically, yet they were happy to take books and return when we came back in. As learners, it is so important that they become thinkers and develop questions of their own which was a huge success as they created those to target the reading and writing skills. Thank you!!

We also had the opportunity to use the class microscopes during our unit of cells to view different cell samples and drew some to display. This was all due to your generous donation. Words fall short to the gratitude I feel to be able to have my students have experienced such act of kindness. Thank You!!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Santana

  • Back to School Basics

    Funded Dec 6, 2018

I'd like to take the opportunity to thank you once again for providing the resources for my students this school year. We were able to have a great start in the school year with what we consider "the basics". When the packages were delivered and they realized it was all for them by individuals who didn't even know them on a personal level, there minds blown away because as one of them asked "who does that?".

The resources are being used daily. Notebooks are used as math and reading journals. The pencils and pens are our main writing tools. Glue sticks are used in class projects and to include important vocabulary in our notebooks when given important terms. The folders are perfectly color coded for the different subjects that our students track.

In having received materials, our students were moved to being part of creating thank you cards for others who have helped them in anyway and used some materials to write thank notes to individuals they identified important in their own lives.

Thank you for the supplies, it is a pleasure to have been part of this first moment in my students life where some experienced a special act of kindness that someone cared about their education by providing basics.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Santana

My students are Special Education middle/high school students with a variety of severe needs. The majority of them have learning, emotional and/or behavioral disorders. The majority of our students live on campus or are from low-income inner-city families. Getting basic back to school supplies is not even an option for them. I would like to reduce this anxiety by supplying my class with some basics. They will use the pens and pencils for everyday writing. They will need notebooks for journals and assignments. Glue for some fun projects and loose leaf paper for homework. Please help ease the students into the school year with these items.
