Hear Ye, Hear Ye...the Magical Story in this Book!
Funded Aug 9, 2018This donation has provided an incredible alternative to the traditional listening center that I have had in the past. The students have truly enjoyed having choice in this center. Choosing where and how you sit as a 6 and 7 year old is a big deal. They also have the option of listening to various books even if it is different from the books their counterparts are enjoying in the center.
They look forward to the listening center each week. Many of my students do not have devices outside of school that they get to experience, so the learning curve of using this device was a fun one to take on. They all figured out the functions very quickly. I have not had any complaints about the size of the headphones or that it is rubbing their ears, which is common with a lot of headphones in schools. These are just the right size for their tiny little ears.
Thank you all so much for your contributions. Introducing center rotations has been seamless this year. I am able to accomplish so much during my guided reading because I am not interrupted by students needing help untangling headphone cords and figuring out a CD player. Our systems are running well and students are engaged in their reading. Without your support, this wouldn't be possible, so Thank you.”

O is for Organized
Funded Oct 27, 2015We've all heard the saying, "It's the little things that makes a difference.". That could not be any more true than how these simple materials have made a great difference in the daily routines and activities in our classroom. The students love having a place to store their books and personal belongings using the storage sacks. They are also managing themselves better and holding one another accountable for keeping their area clean. The students are able to work more independently without all of the clutter of extra paper and books getting in the way. The communication center has been an excellent tool in handling and organizing paperwork.
With just the anticipation of receiving the materials, the students were filled with such excitement. Upon arrival, they couldn't wait to get it out of the packaging and start using it. Being 5 and 6 years old, many oohs and aahs followed during the unwrapping. The students have done well with the up-keep of our new materials and really enjoy using them.
Thank you all again for your support of our classroom. We are running like a well oiled machine and are already half way through the year. I look forward to the great things that are going to happen in the future.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Winnie
