With changes in our Earth, our students will need to know the basic sciences that start early in our education. Second-grade sciences focus on many aspects of science. Physical Science of different types of matter and the changes that can happen. The Life Science of Ecosystem interactions and biological changes. Also, the Earth's energy, dynamics and it's place in our Universe. These are some complex ideas that with hands-on materials can be better understood. Second graders this year will graduate in 2030 and can be our future scientist if equipped to do so. Hands-on materials give students not only this opportunity but provide engaging education that allows for exploration and questioning. Critical thinking skills needed to think outside of the box is encouraged by hands-on project-based learning that these listed materials support. Use of science experiment materials will permit my students a chance to do more than just read about the sciences. The equipment I have listed will allow my students to explore and think about their world as a scientist would. These hands-on experiences may spark the next new scientists of our future. Or at least make them love their second-grade school year.
