  • Virtual Reality Game Creation in the Classroom!

    It has been my pleasure to introduce virtual reality to the students in my classroom using the equipment you so generously provided. Seeing their eyes light up when they first see their virtual reality creations through the headsets is so fulfilling.

    Virtual reality provides such an opportunity for the student to use their creative and technical abilities. Though they all at some point became frustrated with the coding aspect, and some had difficulty with the math, they all broke through and were so pleased when their 3D objects showed up on the screen. And then when we pulled up those objects and viewed them through headsets, the way they're meant to be viewed, they couldn't have been more delighted.

    We could not have done it without your generosity and belief in the power of education.

Students will create characters, settings and serious games. My vision is to have students create original VR games that focus on rigorous and relevant topics, but without your help, none of this will be a reality. We will be coding on our iMacs in A-Frame, a web framework for building virtual reality experiences built by Mozilla. These resources will be used by students to create their own original Virtual Reality content, primarily in Game Design classes. Students will be using A-Frame to code Virtual Reality games that will be designed, tested, and played by students, for students. Your donation to this project will ensure that students are being introduced to relevant and accessible technologies right now!

About my class
