I have a classroom which consists of 22 very active little minds in my first block and 21 in my second block. They are all eager to learn, however; they sometimes feel the need to be active when in fact they should be passive.
My classroom seating arrangement consist of the standard desks and plastic bottom, steel leg chairs. My students are always looking for ways to be creative with their seating choices, which may sometimes includes ways that aren't acceptable.
I do have an adorable bench for my reading nook, but am ready to make the seating in the entire class as adorable as my nook! After receiving the requested donations for alternative seating, I plan to move away from the standard classroom desks to tables that would compliment the new flexible seating. I think having an option for seating will alleviate the need to wiggle around and become distracted during instruction.
