  • Growth Through Play: Dungeons and Dragons Club

    The club has been a fantastic experience for all of the students involved. It has provided opportunities for involvement for students who typically don't involve themselves with extra-curricular activities.

    My students have created their own adventures while building critical skills in multiple areas, including general literacy, creative writing, collaborative work, social skills, and public speaking. All of them look forward to meeting every week and the club has quickly become a staple of our school's culture.”

I chose the resources specifically to give my students what they need to hit the ground running. With Player's Handbooks, dice, and other books listed they will have everything they need to start developing their own adventures. They will create their own characters and guide those characters through stories of their own design. My special education students will be able to develop their social skills. My struggling readers will be able to improve their reading and creative thinking abilities, and non-athletic students will have another choice for extra-curricular activities. Together, we can help my students create their own worlds. By starting this club, my students will have the opportunity to grow both academically and personally.
