  • Let's Get Organized!

    Funded Nov 8, 2024

Thank you so much for donating to my project. My students are all working on staying organized and being successful in their classes. At the beginning of the year, we quickly indentified that students were not using a planner and were missing this essential skill.

With your support, we were able to supply 50 planners to our most neurodivergent kids. We are currently teaching them to remember to write down important dates and details. It is still a work in progress but the kids are realizing that a planner can be the secret to their success in classes.

Thank you again for your support!”

    With gratitude,

  • LEGOs for Kid Collaboration

    Funded May 20, 2024

Thank you so much for the LEGO sets. My students greatly enjoyed having a collaborative activity to do after testing.

Testing is a long and difficult process for teachers and students. Having a concrete and fun activity to do after testing was a great reward for a long day. Kids were able to enjoy a silent and focused activity to create something after a long day of brain activity.

Furthermore, students were able to display their amazing builds and add to our classroom decor.

Thank you so much for supplying high quality rewards to my students.”

  • Board Game Club

    Funded Nov 27, 2023

These games have totally changed my bonus time in the afternoon. Now kids rush in to grab their favorite games. They read the directions, find partners, and start playing. students are so excited to teach each other and WIN. I've shared their excitement until they started beating me.... now I'm less excited to play with them.

I've also enjoyed sharing my favorite classroom games with kids too. I enjoyed playing rummikub all summer long and now I can play again with my students.

With your gifts, I've also allowed the kids to pick their own games.

    Thank you so much!”

  • Test Prep Competition Rewards!

    Funded Feb 15, 2023

Thank you so much for funding the 2 nintendo switch lites.

My kids participated in a competition to get the most amount of test questions correct. Kids were able to make corrections and keep trying until they received a score they were proud of. The student with the most correct answer points won. The 2022-2023 school year brought a re-design to the state end of year tests. These tests were harder than ever and are required to be passed in order to graduate. The kids in my class were kids who had previously failed the test more than once. These kids needed that extra motivation to work hard and pass.”

  • West Flower Garden

    Funded Apr 27, 2023

Thank you for providing my students a campus they can be proud of. With your help, I turned an ugly dirt patch into a beautiful rose garden. What previously was an eye sore at the very front of the school is now a thriving rose garden that welcomes staff, students, and visitors every day. You can see the roses from the street.

It's important to me that the learning environment is cared for and beautiful. Beautiful things happen in beautiful places. While the district does not fund campus beautification projects, we did. We recognized the need and created the space.”

  • Roses Bushes 2.0

    Funded Nov 12, 2022

Thank you so much for contributing to my campus beautification project. This is actually my second set of rush bushes and the first set are doing so well.

I can't wait to plant the next bunch and continuing all our success. Our rose bushes are so beautiful and it definitely sets our campus apart.”

  • Put a Pin on It

    Funded Jul 22, 2022

These pins are so cute! I had to hide them from staff to make sure that they ended up with kids.

We already know that the kids will MAP test the first week of school. We set up the rewards around getting a popsicle and a pin. Many kids show tremendous growth on the MAP test and now they will have swag to show for it.

In addition, we are starting a culture of being loud and proud about academic gains. We want to spread joy and foster a sense of pride in hardwork and success.

Thank you so much for supporting all my ideas and crazy projects!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wight

  • A Rose by Any Other Name

    Funded May 4, 2022

I think this might be the best thing I've ever done for a school. I've done so many different projects... from books to erasers to apple watches and switches. But this project is so special. I'm changing the landscape of how our campus looks hopefully for years to come.

Visitors will now see 15 beautiful knock out rose bushes planted at the entrance of our school. They arrived in rough shape. Shipping had not been kind to them. Mr. Rudy trimmed off the dead parts, bought rose food, and carefully watered them to bring them back to life. This week, we planted them.

Thank you so much for supporting my school and me. This project is oh so special.”

My students are the definition of high needs. In our school, 80% receive free/reduced lunch. My students come from a variety of backgrounds. Some have grown up in the same traditionally Hispanic neighborhood as their grandparents, and haven't ventured much further than our city limits. Others are brand new to our country and trying to find their place. With our wide cultural range, we spend much of our time learning about each other and the characters we read in our texts. There's so much to share and learn just among ourselves.
