My students need flexible seating options to help them thrive and learn while meeting their neurological needs. The wiggle stools will meet these needs by giving them a chance to wiggle and move while learning and completing work. The whiteboard table will help to meet these needs by giving students an inviting place to work one-on-one with their teacher and work on fine motor skills and handwriting. When students' sensory needs are met, they can learn and thrive without seeking novel and sometimes disruptive ways to meet those needs. Moving and rocking in a chair will help regulate their nervous system which helps to free their mind for learning. I have found that when my students are able to move while they work, they not only enjoy the work but are much more successful at completing it. I have found that the destructive behaviors (such as hitting, biting, throwing, screaming and destruction of property) greatly decrease when they can move while they work.
