  • Calm & Cozy Book Study

    Funded Mar 6, 2023

My oh my what a difference the fluorescent light covers made! It has helped tremendously to put them in the right frame of mind for learning and staying on task. We are able to work with the lights on, so no one is falling asleep and we're not roasting with the windows closed.

I can't forget to mention the new pencil sharpener. This has been the longest any pencil sharpener has lasted. It's still going and has cut down the amount of time wasted due to is quick efficiency.

Thank you again for the "Pie" books and "The BFG" to complete our book study sets. We started the "Pie" book study. My students are thrilled to begin something new and they can't even tell we're practicing their reading skills at the same time.”

  • Healthy Minds & Happy Hearts

    Funded Oct 29, 2022

Thank you so much for your support and your monetary donation. I wish I had taken a video of my students reactions when I pulled out that gigantic lined poster. It's amazing how something so simple yet visually impactful can make them excited for an everyday lesson.

The social emotional games were very helpful in redirecting my students to make good choices after winter break. It equipped them with more strategies to cope and make mindful choices on a daily basis. We will continue to utilize these resources that you helped provide my student for the rest of this year and to help support my students in the years ahead.”

  • Financial Literacy for Fourth Graders!

    Funded Sep 21, 2022

With these supplies the students successfully pulled off their first market day. They each had to figure out a product or service to sell. It was amazing to see the students creativity. Some of them made small crafts to sell thanks to the material provided through this project. Other students took a chance and made a game where they charged other students to play. They were successful in the terms that everyone made a profit and were able to have the money to purchase products or play games from their classmates.

They had so much fun and learned a lot through their market day experience. They now know for the next market day what products sold well, where their booth should be and if they want to work with a parter or not. Thank you very much for helping me provide real life experience with economics and financial literacy.”

We are requesting place value coins to provide concrete learning of all math concepts. With the adoption of the new Common Core Standards students have had to learn what parents call "new" math. Students are now diving deeper into math concepts than ever before. Students learn best by following three steps: concrete model, pictorial model, and abstract. These place value coins will help all level learners by providing a concrete model of place vales. We will be able to use the place value chips will be used for all concepts: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and especially division. This concrete model will be the first step to success for all 160 of our Fourth grade students!
