This year my class is made up of 21 bright first graders who are eager to learn. I have been amazed these past few first weeks of school at how much my students have already grown as readers! They have been independently choosing and reading "good fit" books daily. While there is a wide range of reading abilities, each child is interested in and motivated to read everyday. Some prefer to read on their own, while others enjoy reading with partners, which enables them to combine reading and interacting with their peers.
