Financing Our Future
Funded Nov 2, 2021Your kindness has allowed mt SAILS class to learn financial literacy in a fun and engaging manner. Thanks to you resources they are able to practice adding by pretending to buy items from the grocery store then use the cash registers they received to total the purchases and make change. They are able to use the flash cards to identify quantities. Watching them use real world manipulatives, brings a smile to my heart. My students are special needs so skills like using a cash register making change and recognizing bills are lifelong skills they will need.
I plan to expand on what they have learned to build a real classroom store that students from the school can make purchases from which would allow my students to expand their life skills and provide a needed service to our campus.
Your generous donation has allowed my students to accomplish goals they would not have been able to reach alone.”

Funded Aug 17, 2021Thanks to your kind donation my students are excelling with the hand on materials you funded. All the learning activities keep them engaged more than I could imagine. The math instant learning centers help with counting, money, telling time and many other skills as well. They love when I pull the boxes out because they think its just a game. The class favorite is splash which helps with sight word reading.
I am very excited to continue providing lessons for my students that are supported by material purchase with your kind donation. Thank you very much you have made my special needs students feel empowered.”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Thank you for the printer ink. Due to my special needs students being both online and face to face, it requires a lot of printed materials. This virus has taken away shared resources which requires a lot more copies for safety reasons. Your generous ink donations has help closed the gap for us. I am able to confidently print everything for my students without hesitation.
Many of my students need personalized worksheets, task cards and books. Having the extra ink allows me to print what they need to be successful. This ink also allows me as the classroom teacher to keep all necessary documents available for parents as well.
Your generous donation has been a life saver for me, my parents and students. We are now inked for success.”

Funded Nov 12, 2020This printer enabled my special needs classroom to more effectively provide learning materials for my students. My class is split with both in person and virtual students. Many of which have disabilities that make it very hard to be successful online. Those attending in person aren't able to share materials like previously. Having this color printer allows me to customize resources to address my student needs. I can print activities for them to complete. I can make color visuals for them to use in the classroom. This classroom printer helps connect some of the gaps my students have.
This printer also allows mw to give parents reports, materials and resources to support their students as well. I can now send home flashcards, learning symbols and goals trackers instead of parents attempting to secure them on their own.
This printer has enable my classroom to keep up with the demands of catering learning to my students individual needs.. Thank you for your generosity.”

Funded Sep 8, 2020My SAILS students have various conditions including autism, down syndrome and other severe learning disabilities. We started the school year online because most have compromised systems or other issues that made online learning the safest option for them. Most of my students have siblings and parents working from home as well, so most times they have to share space with the others at home. My students were often distracted or overly stimulated trying to learn in their home environment.
The noise canceling headphones you funded allow my students to significantly reduce the amount of background noise that hinder their learning. The headphone allows them to hear instruction more clearly. The microphone allows me to interact with them without having to raise my voice to be heard and allows them to respond without yelling as well. When they work on independent assignments the headphone allows them to work by creating a quiet bubble which helps them focus on the digital platform.
These headphones have transformed the way my students are learning during this online time. They are more confident when trying to speak and more confident when responding to questions. MY parents are grateful as well because with the headphones they are able to work from home or tend to other household duties without interrupting the learning. Your generous donation has given my students some normalcy while learning from home. These headphones allow them to block out the noise and focus on the learning.”
