Art Is ESSENTIAL
Funded Aug 19, 2020Thank you so much for your contributions. I truly believe that art is more essential than ever. Int he world our children are growing up in, they need the power of art to help them unite and fight against all that they face. I believe in this society it is harder than ever for students to gain a sense of self, a sense of identity. Art helps them discover who they are. Art helps them be creative and grow through a trial and error process. Thank you so much for giving me the materials to help my students become the artists they are destined to be.”

A Place to Relax
Funded Aug 31, 2024Thank you so much for your contributions. I try to make my classroom as inclusive a space as possible, and the chair I was able to purchase has allowed my students to have a place where they can go to relax during classtime when they are feeling overwhelmed by school and their lives. I truly believe that students these days are too stressed and pressured by their surroundings. They needs more opportunities to relax and reflect on the person they want to be. Students even fight over who gets to sit in the chair first. Thank you again!”

Creating an Inclusive Space to Be Creative
Funded Aug 14, 2024Thank you so much for your contributions. My students were delighted to have new clay and materials to work with, and they have been hard at work working on projects such as coffee mugs, tea cup sets, masks, vases, and many more things.
I firmly believe that the younger generation needs more opportunities to make things with their hands. Cultivating skills and making objects with your hands leads to confidence, happiness, and a respect for the world around us. Thank you for the opportunity to give my students more materials so they can discover their inner artists.”

Funded Sep 20, 2024Thank you so much for your donations. My students have really enjoyed learning how to solder and they have already soldered many projects. After an introduction to soldering, students soldered together a circuit board for a speaker, a robot, and are now working on a game boy-like device that includes tetris, snake, space invaders, and a calculator. All of this was made possible because of your donation. I firmly believe that the younger generation needs more opportunities to realize how they can make things with their hands, and that if they learn a skill it can be applied to many different areas. Thank you again.”

Funded Feb 2, 2024Thank you so much for your donations. My goal is to make my classroom a safe space where students can feel creative and explore their artistic identities. I am always so proud to see students create artwork, and the materials you generously donated to provide will help them create even more art.
With social media affecting their daily lives and mental health, students need art and creative outlets more than ever. My hope is that by providing a classroom where their hands get dirty, students will leave their phones to the side for whatever time they are with me and explore making things with their own two hands.
Thank you again for your donations.”

Funded Jan 8, 2024Thank you so much for your donations. The materials you provided have greatly helped my students in their quests to become artists. We are able to create better clay sculpture projects and paint them colorfully.
My students love making art, and I believe that their identities are deeply tied to the art they create in my classroom. My favorite moments are when students show me how proud they are of their artwork. Their faces beam with pride and joy, and it is always a reminder for me about why I chose this profession.”

Funded Sep 23, 2022Thank you so much for your donations. With the pandemic mostly behind us, this year will be a great year for our students to get back on track and learn about art and what they can make with their hands. My students and I are so excited to get creative again. Thank you.”

Rebuilding our Lives with Clay
Funded Dec 9, 2021Thank you so much for your generous donation. The students have been able to create some amazing projects with the clay you provided us, such as watering cans, mugs, vases, and bowls thrown on wheels.
This has been an extremely challenging year, and students have been a bit intimidated by the prospect of coming back to school and being in person in art class. I think my art class has helped them adjust to their new reality, and it has been a great opportunity for them to rediscover their artistic talent and creativity.”

Relax with Ceramics in the Morning
Funded Nov 18, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donations. My students have been very happy to have a full array of glaze colors for their projects.
As a morning elective, my Ceramics course has been extremely popular, and the students who are chosen to be in it take immense pride in the fact that they get to spend 3 hours every week making objects out of clay. My role has always been to facilitate their learning in any way possible, but without materials that's not always easy. In the past I've been disappointed in myself for not being able to maximize my student's creative potential. But with your generous donation this year I will be able to offer my students all the projects I've envisioned in the past, including Monster Mugs, which are in the pictures I've attached, and treasure boxes, tiles, coffee cups, and more.
Once they saw the materials my students had a lot of great ideas for projects that I never thought of doing before, such as masks and tea cup sets. They are very excited to start working, and I am excited to help them in any way I can. Thanks again for your generosity.”

This classroom project was brought to life by PLUS1 and Beast Coast.Ceramics in the Morning!
Funded Jan 16, 2019Thank you so much for your contribution to our classroom. With your donation, we've been able to obtain a variety of glazes for our ceramics elective in the morning.
The morning elective happens during the 1st period of the day, and it is a good way for students to calm down and center themselves before a hectic day. When I showed the students the new glazes, they were very excited and got to work immediately on making vases and plates that they could decorate with the new colors and patterns.
The next project will be making a ceramic mug that resembles an animal, and students are already planning on what glazes and patterns to use to make their projects. Thanks again for your donation, and please remember the difference you've made in our students' lives.”

Mr. Wever
