My goal in first grade is to have my students reading at grade level by the end of the year. I have 23 eager minds, from very diverse backgrounds, ready to learn to read. We use reading centers to help students learn to read in a small group setting. One center I am hoping to have is a listening center where students can listen to books being read to them as they follow along.
