Students will use models of the solar system to reinforce instruction and gain understanding through hands-on exploration of planetary movement in relation to the sun and the other planets. The excitement students feel when they explore and develop questions about concepts in science, makes them want to dig deeper into science. Students will use the donated models to investigate planet movement within our solar system, apply knowledge about gravity and Newton's Laws of Motion and demonstrate their understanding. They will build personal Interactive Science Notebooks that document their activities, labs, and allow the to show examples of their investigations. This is very motivating to students and builds excitement about science.

About my class
