We Need Kleenex!
Funded Jul 21, 2020Thank you so much for your awesome donations. When I received the Kleenexes and air purifier filters I had found out that I was the second grade virtual teacher. So, I gave the Kleenexes to my virtual students who needed them. The pictures of the Kleenex is when I stored them until my students' parents could come and get them. They were very thankful for them.
The air purifiers have not been used yet because the air purifier doesn't need it yet. I let my co-worker borrow it this year because she is teaching her students via brick and mortar. She also had cancer and I wanted both her students and her to be safe.”

Funded Jul 17, 2020Thank you so much for giving my students the bucket hat/face shields. My students are virtual this year but I sent these home with them. They absolutely love them. They still show up in our Zoom live sessions wearing them. They look so cute and happy wearing them.
I did not get to take pictures of my students wearing them because I didn't have permission from their parents. I do have some stories to tell you though. One mom told me that her child didn't like wearing a mask out but has no problem wearing the bucket hat. Another mom told me that her son gave his to his little sister because he wanted to protect her from Covid. That was so sweet! His actions melted my heart.
These bucket hat/face shields are helping to protect my students from getting Covid. Your donations have helped me sleep better at night knowing that my babies (students) are safer. I can't thank you enough for that.”

Funded Jul 19, 2020Thank you so much for all these wonderful gifts for my students. I ended up being the virtual second grade teacher this year. I was not able to place these items on my students' desks for our Meet the Teacher night. Our school did not get to have that special night because of Covid. I gave these supplies to a co-worker. She gave them to her students that are going brick and mortar. I got to see her students' smiles and hear their excitement when they received their gifts. I am not going to lie, I may have cried a little because I didn't get to give them to my kids. I might have got angry because Covid took that away from me.
My co-worker still tells me thank you for giving these gifts to her students. I am thankful for you all because even though it wasn't my students, you made some sweet second graders excited and happy. I believe you even made it less scary for them to come to school those first few days.
You all are a blessing to some wonderful students'.”

Getting Creative in the Classroom
Funded Jan 23, 2020Thank you so much for supporting this project. My students were going to complete this project after Spring Break by making animated book talks using this iPad. Then, we were going to have our principal present these on our live stream YouTube channel during our morning announcements. Next thing we know, Covid happened, and my students didn't come back to school. This year I am the virtual second grade teacher and I don't have students in my classroom to complete this project. I am truly sorry for this. I was looking forward to sharing our Book Talks with you by sharing our YouTube link. Thank you again and many blessings.”

Funded Jan 23, 2020Thank you so much for your incredible support! I am sad to say that my students didn't get to make their tumblers with these materials. We were going to make them for a Mother's Day Gift. My students were gong to create a picture to place on a tumbler. Using the A Sub paper and our scanner, we were going to scan their artwork and then print it using our sublimation printer. The heat gun was going to shrink the the shrink wrap around the tumbler and then we were going to bake these in our convection oven. Next thing we know, COVID-19 happens and my students didn't get to come back to school. Now I am the second grade virtual teacher and my virtual students can't make these either. I don't have enough tumblers for them. I am very sorry, but thankful for having your support.”

Funded Jul 14, 2020I am so very sad! My students did not come to my class this year because I am teaching by remote learning this year! It makes me so sad not to see their faces. I had my room all set up, my air purifier up and running, and then this happened. Now this air purifier is all alone with just me and my classroom. The desks are crooked because people have borrowed and returned them. I am using this purifier in my classroom and it is helping me clean the air. I have severe asthma and can not risk getting Covid. Next year I will have some fresh new faces that will get to enjoy this air purifier. Many blessings and I look forward to sharing more pictures next year.”

Funded Jan 23, 2020Thank you so much for supporting my students! They were so excited when this convection oven arrived! I wish I had taken pictures. I feel bad because I didn't. I was going to take a lot of cute pictures of my students creating their artwork and them watching their tumbler bake in the oven. We were going to do this as a Mother's Day gift. Then, bam, Covid-19 happened and we didn't get to come back to school. So, my students didn't make their tumblers using this oven.
This year I am the virtual second grade teacher and I won't be able to have my students complete this project. I am very sorry about this. As soon as I have students, in person, we will use this oven to "cook" our tumblers! Thank you again and many blessings!”

Funded Jul 17, 2020Thank you so much for supporting my classroom. I am the virtual second grade teacher this year. I, unfortunately, do not have students in my classroom. I didn't want this to just sit in a box so I am letting another teacher use it this year. None of my students needed or wanted it. As you can see on the look of the teacher's face she was very excited to get this air purifier. She says it has helped her students and herself. Knock on wood, all her students are healthy.
I am sorry I don't have pictures of my students with this air purifier but know that it is keeping a classroom of students safe during this pandemic.”

Funded May 5, 2020I was going to have my students make diversity shirts this year with our new sublimation printer. I was going to do a lot of activities with my students. Due to Covid -19 I am the virtual second grade teacher. I am not able to let my students use this sublimation printer because they aren't in my classroom.. The pictures I posted are past students who made unity t-shirts with a smaller sublimation printer.
This year's students are still going to learn about diversity. I believe teaching these will help my students learn about tolerance. They will learn how they may look different on the outside, they are still the same on the inside.”

Funded Jun 14, 2020Well, what a year! I am so sad that my students are not actually in my classroom this year. Since I am the virtual second grade teacher my students weren't able to make their animated book talks. I was looking forward to my students using this iPad to create animated book talks I was going to purchase both Doink apps and teach my students how to use them. I had everything planned! . My students were going to read a book and write a book report and then film each other in front of a green screen. Covid-19 really messed everything up for my students. I am so sorry about all of this.”
