Foundational Language Skills for Little Ones
Funded Jun 13, 2021Thank you for your generous contribution towards the items requested in order to benefit my student's language needs. These items have already made a huge impact in the few weeks we have been back at school. My students love listening to me read the lift-flap books such as 'Dear Zoo' and 'What's in My House'. Their interactive component makes these books engaging and rich with language opportunities that I utilize. The construction paper is being used to make little books for the children to work on and take home in order to target and reinforce their individual language needs. We also use the construction paper for crafts that allow me to work on social communication as well. I appreciate your contributions and thank you for helping me in making a difference.”

Funded Feb 18, 2019I cannot find enough ways to express my gratitude for your donations towards school supplies. My students loved opening the donations and putting them in their place in our classroom, and it has been wonderful to see that the donated supplies has really had an effect on how our classroom runs. Here are just a few ways your donation has impacted the classroom.
The paper is already being used to make copies to use at centers as well as small groups. My students have a weekly checklist that I print off, so that they can stay accountable, during the time I am working at the back with small groups. Paper is a coveted item as a teacher, so I cannot thank you enough for this donation! It is so nice to no longer worry about running out of paper!
The dry erase markers and cleaner are being put to good use as we get closer to testing season. It is important to review what we have learned this year, and I try to make it as engaging as possible. Therefore, we play a lot of games using the dry erase boards. Your donation will allow use to play many review games!
The staples and paper clips are also greatly appreciated! These will be used almost daily for all the little things that come up while teaching. The erasers and pencil sharpener will be used daily as well, for anything and everything!
Again, I can not thank you enough for your thoughtful donation. Not only will these items be loved and used by my current class, but for many classes to come!”

All Aboard! Next Stop, Learning Stations!
Funded Aug 22, 2018I cannot find enough ways to express my gratitude for your donations to help with our centers. My students enjoy having the ability to go to many centers during the week, and it has been wonderful to see that the donated supplies has really had an effect on how smoothly centers are running. Here are just a few ways your donation has impacted the classroom.
The clipboards are so versatile and we use them almost daily. Many of our whole group lessons are now done on the carpet with these clipboards, which I find helps them pay attention. Students also use them at different centers, since they are not restricted to just working at their desks. The laminator has also been a time-saver! All of my task cards and standards are now laminated. This way the kids can reuse them as often as they like. We have also been able to do a lot more craft activities (book posters, and presentations to go with their book reports) with our scissors and paper trimmer.
Again, I can not thank you enough for your thoughtful donation. Not only will these items be loved and used by my current class, but for many classes to come!”

Funded Mar 27, 2018I cannot find enough ways to express my gratitude for your donations to expand our classroom library. My scholars were overjoyed when they heard that we were to receive 100 new books. As a first year teacher last year, I only had a small collection at the time, so this addition really helped my scholars by giving them the opportunity to read so many new titles. Since receiving those books they have now been read and loved by two classes; my class from last spring, and my current class.
I feel that it is imperative that young children read on their own daily. Not only does it foster a love of reading, but it puts to their imagination to work - something many of them no longer use. During the reading block I require students to read independently for at least 15 minutes a day, in addition to whenever they have completed their academic work. We also host novel studies and literature circles. This is where I work with small groups at different levels and model how to read and use different skills such as summarizing and context clues.
Since these books were sold in bulk sets, I did not specifically choose which titles we received. I am very glad I did not have the choice to do so, because we received so many books with titles I had never heard before, that my kids absolutely love. Hidden has been very popular with the kids as well as another titled Savvy. So again, thank you for your wonderful donation, I only wish you could see for yourselves how much my scholars now enjoy reading!”

Funded Apr 30, 2018I cannot thank you enough for your generous gift. It means even more coming from you, as you know how much education means to me. The kids know that too, and are extra gentle with the resources you provided to us. We use these items daily, and so far it has made a huge difference!
My scholars absolutely love everything that was purchased. Their favorite are the dry erase board sets with markers and erasers. It has been especially handy while teaching math this year, as it allows the students to practice as many times as they need to. We also use the white boards for Jeopardy during our ELA block and the kids love that too. Using these boards have made the lessons much more interactive and engaging which is what I had hoped for.
The Scholars were also excited to use the buzzers. My class is super competitive so when we place games, more often than not you we reach for the buzzers. It is just a simple way to spice up my lessons, yet the students are overjoyed to have them.
My personal favorite is the pencil sharpener. You do not realize how vital this is in the classroom until you have 38 students asking if they can sharpener their pencil. I have pencil sharpening as a job now, where one of my students sharpens all the pencils and sets them on their classmates desks. It has made things much easier.
Thank you again for your donation. You put a smile on my kids faces, and gave them the opportunity to use resources I could not provide for them. It makes my heart so happy to see them using these resources regularly and they treat these resources with extra care because of who they came from. It means the world to me.”
