Oh, I See!
Funded Feb 28, 2021I am beyond thankful for your wonderful donations. I wish you could see the difference this has made in our classroom. Every Friday we have, "Let's Draw Friday!" My students cannot wait for Friday to come. They love drawing. This helps my students develop their small motor skills, develop their language, and boost their moral. This year has been extremely difficult, as students at this age learn hands on the best. They are so focused and want to show everyone what great illustrators they are. All of this is thanks to you and your donations. I do not have enough words to say that I am humbled and thankful for the success you have created in my classroom.”

Chirp...Chirp...Give Me a Voice!
Funded Feb 1, 2021I want to humbly thank you for all of your donations. This project has brought a tremendous smile to each and everyone of my students and their families. My students love using these templates to create their family projects. These projects build language, creativity, and positive self-esteem. My students cannot wait to show what they created. In March, we did, "I Am So Lucky To Have My Family," and "I Am Egg-cellent!" In April, we will do a project, "What I Will Do for Our Earth." I cannot wait to see what my students will present. From the bottom of my heart, Thank You! I am beyond grateful for all that you have done.”

Funded May 6, 2020I am beyond grateful for your generous donations. Although this project was initially done with the intentions that the students would use it to show their learning due to Covid-19 that has not been possible. Since March 13, 2020, we have been learning virtually and have not been in the classroom.
Even though the students have not used the camera directly, we have used the camera to take pictures of our virtual learning journey. Student are sharing their creations and sharing virtually. The camera is being used to document many of their learnings experiences.
With time, when we return to the physical classroom, we will continue to use our new materials. The children eagerly are awaiting for the time when we return, so they can use the unit. They have been so excited about our new materials. Their smiles are proof that your donation has made a tremendous impact in our classroom and our learning journey.”

Funded Nov 5, 2019Your contributions are greatly appreciated. Students are learning about the joy of reading. Through modeling they are learning about book handling. They are listening to stories and literature with characters they can relate to and make connections with. Through these self-connections, my students have a deeper comprehension of the message being delivered.
During circle time, the students vote on a book we are going to read. We then discuss the message. What did we learn? What could have been done differently? Did you like the ending, if not what would you change? Then we talk about their emotions. Who do you like? What did you like the most about the book? What did you feel? The books then come to life as we pretend to be the characters.
Thanks to you my students are not only enjoying the books but learning about the importance of kindness and empathy. They are learning about culture. How to face challenges and obstacles. They are making connections to each story. They are checking on each other and lending a helping hand when needed. My students are learning that they are important to their community and as such they are contributing to their own and each other's successes.”

Funded Aug 23, 2016Although the resources are primarily for physical education, they are being used for a variety of things. As stated in the objective, they are being used to create multi-activity centers. Usually one of the centers is for jump-roping, one for soccer manipulation, one for stretches or squats and one for jumping jacks. In addition, we have used the equipment for yoga, and for running exercises. Also, the IPOD and speaker have been used to play music while students are working independently. I know that as we continue to use them for other activities students will continue to stay active and learn the objective of staying fit for life.
Initially we did not receive all of the equipment at once, but as I received it, I shared with them the items we were receiving. The soccer balls were a great hit, as they enthusiastically passed them around gently as if they were a crystal trophy. I really wish I would have taken a picture as I opened our new gifts, the children were not only in shock that someone would donate all these items, but we're ecstatic to try them out. Their little faced filled with joy as they realized they would now be able to meet their goals.
With time we will continue to use our new materials. The children eagerly offer to carry them into our area. They have been so excited about our new materials that now even other classes know about all the great items we received. On Wednesday, we even invited another classroom to join us. They love doing physical education and staying fit. Because of your contribution we are one step closer to beating obesity.”
