The Geometry Kit and the tablet will serve to bring to life mathematics content that students generally have a difficult time grasping. The Geometry Kit will be used in differentiated instructional groups. The kits, which comes with task cards that students can work on by themselves, with a partner or through teacher facilitation, will serve to engage students that have low academic performance and lacks self-motivation. The sets will allow them to build, create, draw and make geometric shapes and builds spatial recognition. Currently our school's data shows that students have over the years struggled in geometry. Your generous donation would impact our students' academic achievement and improve students' learning of geometry, as they will be able to access hands-on materials and learning abstract content, through tactile and kinesthetic manners, which may be more appropriate to their independent learning styles. Our students who are from low socio-economic backgrounds do not have access to technology at home. Our school also has a severe lack of technology within classrooms. Some classrooms have no computer, really old computers, or just one computer for the teacher use and Promethean Board. Having the tablet, would provide the technological aspect needed to increase engagement and improve learning. It will allow students to drive their own learning. It will also be used as a center for STEM research and activities. After students build their geometric models, they can use the tablet to look up what makes a building hurricane proof, and model design of rooms and building or a small town using their shapes.
