We are doing a Harry Potter theme for the 5th graders this year. Each student is in a specific house and is competing all year for the House Cup. They are learning the importance of being on a team and working together. Being able to read the Harry Potter novels will help my students understand that even in a fantasy world, anyone can do anything they put their mind to. They are at an age where they need to know how important school is, and how much their teachers truly appreciate them. What better way to do this than with the story of the "boy who lived.”
