Students will use these journals for recording their feelings, responding to specific writing prompts and as a way to connect their thoughts through coloring and writing. Typically, my students experience various levels of trauma that often prevents adequate focus on learning. By incorporating a way to regulate their emotions through journaling, I’m hoping to free up space in their minds to learn English and make real world connections between what they read, write and feel. Empowering them with the right tools to engage is key with this project. Thank you.
