Our students are challenged with the world of education moving at a pace never seen before. Technology is the reason why. Our students learning and the love to gain knowledge is oftentimes cut short at the closing of the school day. The cause of this varies from student to student. It can be a financial issue for their parents, not being able to afford technology and the cost of wifi. It could be a plethora of things. The issue of not having enough technology on hand at school hinders their ability to experience choices pertaining to their own learning. The chromebooks that we have asked for will be used on a daily basis to increase the number of students in our class to participate in our reading and math interventions via the internet. Literacy is our school focus. Technology is the preferred teaching strategy with our school. Our students are given the opportunity to choose how they develop their skills through personalized learning. The use of a few chromebooks will allow them to complete assignments online and print their completed products to present in class. They will be able to participate in online discussions interacting with me and each other. Our students will make literacy a part of each subject area having a chance to read and investigate across the curriculum. The use of this technology will take the place of a teacher at times throughout the day as planned. Technology encourages them to learn and enables them keep up with the world of technology. We pull from many resources in order to support instructions. The daily use of copy paper keeps us to keep up with the detailed assignments, practices, homework projects and so much.
