Making History Come Alive With Images!
Funded Nov 3, 2019Thank you so much for the gift of the projector. It would be difficult to teach history without the visuals that it allows me to project onto the wall with every lesson. History can be dense with data, so breaking up my presentation with videos and still photographs bring the subtleties of historical events to life.
They love having their own projector. Prior to receiving the Donor's Choose gift, we shared the equipment with the building. So, in the past, there were times when I had a perfectly descriptive video or photograph to show, but had to skip over that portion of my lesson where it should have been incorporated. Showing videos and photographs indeed encourage vibrant conversations between my students as I listen to their analytical skills develop with each discussion.
Not all students were able to obtain permission from their parent or guardian to have their photographs taken. Therefore, the range of photographs are limited, and I apologize for that. I can assure you, however, all my students appreciate the addition of the new technology to our classroom.”

Funded Sep 3, 2010On behalf of my students, I want to thank you immensely for your contribution to the funding of my project. I can assure you that the supplies you helped purchase for use by my students will enhance their learning experiences significantly.
For instance, my 10th-grade students will use the binders in the same manner that my ninth-grade students would have used them, had we received the total funding last school year as planned. In addition to working with Reporter/Writer notebooks in their English class, my 10th-grade students will have the challenge of sitting for three High School Assessment (HSA) subject examinations (English, Government, and Biology) next May. The binders, dividers, pens, and filler paper will allow them to develop and hone the organizational skills that they sorely need to prepare successfully for these examinations. Moreover, with an adequate supply of copy paper available, I will be able to deliver written projects to my students, even when the building's paper supply might become scarce.
Again, thank you for your devotion to promoting the success of public education, one classroom at a time, as evidenced by your generosity of spirit. My students will thank you in their own words within the coming months.”
With gratitude,
Dr. Rolle
Every Child Must Succeed -- A Community Project
Funded Jan 4, 2009I want to take the time to thank you earnestly for your swift response to my plea for funding of "Every Child Must Succeed -- A Community Project." Your generosity is encouraging to those of us who labor on the front lines of public education. It reminds us that there are those in the community who support us, but, more importantly, your selfless gift symbolizes your genuine belief in, and concern for, my students. Compassionate members of the community like you are the true unsung heroes of public education.
Your involvement in my students' lives will mean a lot to them and to their parents. I am certain they would join me in wishing you a prosperous and peaceful 2009. ”
With gratitude,
Dr. Rolle
