The Way We See It
Funded Dec 3, 2018Thank you for your generous donation in support of "How We See It" photography project. The digital cameras received provide great opportunity for my students to explore the various technical skills to take great photos and allow them to get out into the community and go on photowalks so they can photograph their city.
It's great to see my students get into the art of photography by discussing the process and physically relating to a shot by getting down on the grown or reaching beyond their comfort zone with their camera to gain a new perspective. That is what developing as a photographer is about: taking risks creatively!
Without your donation these creative opportunities would not be available to our students with special needs and all students who can benefit from the expressive qualities of photography.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Maude
This classroom project was brought to life by Staples and 3 other donors.Visual Voices: Non-Verbal Artists with Autism
Funded Sep 20, 2016I am deeply grateful for your donation to my Visual Arts classroom. You have provided my students opportunities to develop their artistic talents and create art that has personal meaning for them. This is the first year they have an official art studio that offers all medium. We are truly inspired!
We have easels they paint on and when they first saw them in our art studio they asked, "what are those?" When I explained to them how we will be using the easels I heard comments like, "awesome", "okay!" and even "I'm going to be a famous painter." I know they are happy to be in the art studio through expressions on their faces and the enthusiasm they demonstrate for creating.
They are excited and I believe there is nothing holding them back from the full expression of creating through painting, printmaking and simply drawing. My students are very lucky for your donations.
While we are currently in our collage unit, we will be moving into sculpture soon and afterwords, painting.
I cannot thank you enough for your generous donation. It truly means the world to my students and to me.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Maude
