Spread Love For Learning!
Funded May 21, 2020First and foremost, thank you to everyone for donating to my classroom. Without your generosity, this wouldn't have been possible.
When my children received their bags filled with art and STEAM projects, they lit up with joy and excitement! They quickly went home to start working on the projects, so they could show me the next day on ZOOM!
We used the sailboat to talk about sink and float, art materials were used for directed drawings and creating pictures to retell stories. The children used the foam to create sculptures and the slime when they needed to relax and take a break.
Again, thank you all for making this possible.”

Funded Apr 9, 2018There are no words to express my gratitude for all of your generosity, but I thank each of you for your donations! Through the help of your donations my students were able to continue the learning process using "hands-on" materials. The transitional backpacks for kindergarten were a big hit with both the parents and the students. The parents were very appreciative to receive materials that will help their children continue learning over the summer. While my students were excited to draw in their new journal, show their parents how they have started to write words and scissors to cut out new creations. These backpacks have provided my students with the necessary tools to learn, grow and continue to develop the skills they need for kindergarten. Again, thank you to all for your generous donations!”

Funded Feb 28, 2018I just want to start by saying thank you so much for all of your generous donations to our class. My student's faces lit up with joy when they helped me unpack our box. The materials you provided through your generous donations are making an amazing impact on my student's math skills. My students have been using these materials to reinforce the concept of patterns, measuring, weighing, and identifying numbers. It has also helped with social skills such as taking turns, and working together. My students have particular enjoyed the "How Tall Am I Game" because they can create silly characters to measure. This is such an exciting process and we are so thankful that you are a part of their education and building a successful future in this country.”

Early Literacy Skills in Pre-K
Funded Jan 26, 2018This is just a small token of my gratitude for your generous donation to my classroom. My students were so excited to learn we received new materials to use and couldn't wait to open up the box and see what was in there. Every time I took out a new materials to use the children became more and more excited, talked about how they would use them and who they would work with. I was so happy to see their faces filled with joy!
These materials not only help my students work on their literacy skills, but will also help them to work collaboratively with each other. We've used our new materials to practice our writing skills, recognize letters, review letter sounds and started spelling. These materials have helped my beginners while also challenging my more advanced students. I am so glad that all of my students have been able to enjoy these materials and continue to grow.
Again, thank you all for your generous donations!”

Funded Mar 24, 2017Thank you for your generous donation of materials to our Pre-K class. The students have loved using their new games and electronics during work time and small group. During small group time the students used the rhyming and opposite cards to help reinforce lesson that's we've learned throughout the school year. These cards helped to expand my student's knowledge on what words rhymes and even taught them new opposite groups. During work time my students became particularly fond of the ABC matching game and made it a contest to see who found the most matches, but what I loved the most is that they helped each other learn letters. Also, at work time my students loved using their new electronics to help learn letters, reinforce letter sounds and learn their letters up to 20. By having all of these new materials it really allowed helped prepare my students for kindergarten. I will continue to use the materials throughout the school year next year to bring joy to my new group of students.
Again thank you sincerely for your kindness towards my students and for the much needed materials.”

Future Artist!
Funded Mar 24, 2017Thank you for your generous donation of art materials to our Pre-K class! Our class has created so much beautiful artwork with the materials you have donated to our classroom. We truly appreciated your generosity! The children especially loved creating projects with the Wiki Stix. The students used the pictures that came with the packet to create bears, clowns and flowers (pictures on the site) and were especially proud of themselves that they were able to make them. Once they completed it the smiles on their face made it worth it as they showed off their pictures to students and family. The students also loved using the noodles to create 3-D art work. Once the students got the hang of it they created dinosaurs, water slides (as pictures here) and many other pieces of art. My students and I are very thank you for your donations as it allowed my students the ability to be creative not only by using paper but learning they could create art with various types of materials. I will continue to use the materials throughout the next school year to bring joy to my new group of students.
Again thank you sincerely for your kindness towards my students and for the much needed materials”

Multicultural Books to Help Our Library Grow!
Funded Apr 19, 2016Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! My students have started off the year with many new and exciting books. Each one of these books will help teach my students valuable lessons about diversity. Since my students come from a very diverse background it has been great for students to hear about each others cultures, learn about ancient myths and about cultures that are not represented in our class.
All of my students especially love the book, 'Coyote Places the Stars'. They loved hearing the myth of how the stars were placed in the sky and creating their own constellations! As they were creating their constellations they talked to each other about what they would name their constellation and where in the sky they were. After reading this book, the students wanted to learn more about the constellation, so we used the Internet to future explore the stars. One student became so interested in the sky and stars that his parents bought him a telescope and looking at the stars is now their favorite hobby!
Also, my students loved listening to the story, "Being With You This way'. This story taught them about how we all look different but yet we are all the same. They loved seeing pictures of the boys and girls that looked like them and as I was reading they commented each time a child in the story looked like them. After reading this book, the students created images of themselves our diversity wall.
In addition to reading time, each morning after breakfast the students come in and pick on of our new books to read. They also have the option to take a book during work time, in which one of the teachers can read to them.
Thank you again for your generosity! These books will continue to enhance my students lives.”
