'Adding' Some New Manipulatives!
Funded Feb 27, 2013You have made the biggest impact on thirty children's lives. Their mathematical understanding has been changed due to your support. The skills these children have learned will carry on with them for the rest of their lives and it serves as a foundation for their future middle, high and post-secondary school careers.
My students love the manipulative's. They are always begging to play with them. They have supported each unit of study that we have covered since receiving them and in all honesty, they are such a fun way to learn. They can not get enough of tangram's, or plastic money. They rush through their independent work (which can sometimes be a problem) just so they can get into their partnerships and use the tactile supplies.
I am a teacher. These days our job has become under scrutiny. I don't care though. I love my job. I am so excited to go to work and see my kids. I love watching them grow and learn. I also love that there are organizations like Donor's Choose.org as well as absolutely amazing people, like yourself, who are willing to support and help people like me provide the best education possible for well-deserving children of New York City. These children only deserve the best!
Thank you for your support. I appreciate it, my students depend on it.”

Art At 157 Is A GOGH!
Funded Dec 20, 2011From the bottom of my heart, I would like to say thank you for your kindness for donating towards my project.
My students are also extremely grateful because your single donation not only help bring back a canceled art program but it also brought back creativity and dreams to dreary concrete walls. For the first time in a very long time, enrichment periods were spent creating beautiful pieces of art instead of sitting at desks doing test prep.
I am so thankful for your kindness. It is people like you who understand the dire conditions teachers work in. With an urgency to eliminate teacher's rights and to push forward with curriculum that is inappropriate for certain community populations; it is refreshing to see someone who is with "us" instead of against "us". You understood the need for these supplies and the effect that they would have on a large group of students. I applaud your efforts to help public education.
On behalf of my students, my artists and creators, we thank you. ”

Laptop to Replace a Stolen One
Funded Jan 7, 2010You can imagine my shock and concern when I heard the news that a grand robbery took place at my school during the night of Parent Teacher Conferences. Words can not explain how I felt when I learned that all the computers on the first and second floor were stolen. Our school is technologically advanced with high tech gear to aid in our students learning. It is sad that people have to steal from children and because of the robbery, weeks went by without use of our interactive Smart Boards.
I would like to say thank you for your donation which helped replace the stolen lap top. Your kindness and generosity has brought light to a dismal situation. Though some degenerates stole school computers; noble and law-biding citizen such as your self prevailed.
There are still good people out there. Thank you for being one of them!”

Ms. Curtis
The Kids Broke It, I Would Like A New One
Funded Mar 12, 2009I want to say thank you again for the supplies. It was nice to not hear 250 requests every week because I did not have erasers and a working pencil sharpener. Though through the desperate attempts and the harassing emails sent by donors choose to write this impact letter; I do not want you to fell neglected for my late response. Sometimes, teachers, also get distracted.
However, the new supplies are wonderful! The pencil sharpener works and doesn't make a high pitched grinding noise when we use it. There are enough erasers for everyone to use! Work is getting done! I also have to admit, that day I whipped out the disposable camera to take my 'Thank You' package pictures was one of the most fun days of the year! We tossed the erasers up into the air like confetti in a ticker tape parade. All the kids wanted to be models. I only wish I had copies of my own of those pictures. It was a blast. A blast brought on by you. ”

Science Lab S.O.S!
Funded Jul 30, 2007With every ounce of my being, I thank you for the time taken to read and fund my proposal. I am so incredibly thankful for every single thing that is going to be donated. This is my first time using this program and I am so happy that my students will gain the resources to learn that they so desperately need. I am in shock, disbelief and overjoyed that I can give these kids something I couldn't financially provide them myself. Thank you from PS 157”
