For the Love of Reading
Funded Nov 23, 2021Thank you for the birthday wishes and surprising my students with such a wonderful gift. I can not wait for them to open up the boxes of new books to add to our growing classroom library. My students truly have a love of reading and I know they will welcome these new adventures with open imaginations.”

Warm Up to a Good Book
Funded Dec 22, 2018Thank you for supporting my classroom. I have enjoyed bringing the love of reading to my students. I hope that with these new books they will continue to dive into more adventures with their Book Club groups. I remember reading some of these stories when I was a child, and I hope my students enjoy the stories and much as I did.”

Technology at Your Fingertips
Funded Oct 17, 2016Thank you so much for your generous donation. Having access to more technology is always a plus in the classroom. My students are able to research their ideas and concepts that they want to learn more about. They enjoy completing assignments on Google Classroom and having the ability to collaborate through online forums, like Google Classroom. Students are also able to create projects on the iPads and Chromebooks. I also love having a color printer in my classroom. This helps bring some of the outside resources to life, since they are in color instead of traditionally in black and white. Thank you again for donating to my classroom.”

Learning Choices in the Classroom
Funded Mar 27, 2018Thank you so much for your VERY generous donations. I could not have pulled this off without your wonderful support. It has been exciting to watch my classroom transform from the traditional desk set up, to a more relaxed cafe vibe. My students have enjoyed trying out the different flexible seating options and look forward to the other opportunities that I hope to continue to bring to them. This journey has helped me to further understand my students learning needs and what I can do to help foster their creativity, curiosity and love of learning.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Ripple and 7 other donors.iPads for Success!
Funded Nov 20, 2015Thank you so much for your generous donation. The iPads were a big hit with my students. Being able to add two more iPads to our growing technology pieces in the classroom has been a big help to making applications more accessible for students. I was able to bring Google Classroom to my students this past year and it was so much easier to gain access outside of our computer lab time with the iPads at our fingertips.
The students were excited to conduct on the spot research when working on class projects. The iPads made it easier for them to watch educational based videos and access school learning websites.
It was particularly special to see my students who do not have a computer at home, get excited when given the opportunity to work on the iPads. Technology has opened up a whole new world of learning to these students. I am continually grateful and impressed by Chevron's generosity and encouragement of students when it comes to technology in the classroom.”

Chromebooks for the Classroom
Funded Oct 24, 2014Thank you so much for funding my DonorsChoose project for the classroom Chromebooks. I was so excited to see my project get funded and even more thrilled to share with my students the new technology equipment that we would be getting in the classroom. I looked for many ways to use the Chromebooks in my classroom whenever I could. Some mornings we would start of by taking timed math fact tests on the Chromebooks. The students loved this as it was something different from taking the usual paper and pencil tests. They were also able to take their Accelerated Reader quizzes more frequently since we have access to the website through these six Chromebooks. My students really had a hunger for reading and loved monitoring their progress through the quizzes they would take on the Chromebooks. I also taught and encouraged the students to research an author of their choice for a classroom project. It was helpful to have the Chromebooks in the classroom because I could help the students right then and there on their research rather than having to wait for our scheduled computer day or trying to help explain to them what to do on their own home computers. Thank you again for funding my project. I am grateful for the opportunity to have resources and the technology like the Chromebooks to enhance my students learning options.”

Dr. Seuss Author Study
Funded Feb 4, 2015Thank you so much for donating to my Donor's Choose project! My students were so excited to receive all of the Dr. Seuss books. We spent a month reading the Dr. Seuss books, learning about Dr. Seuss and we even celebrated our month long study with a Dr. Seuss Day! My students will continue to read the books daily. They were even more surprised to see how many books Dr. Seuss has actually written. This author study was by far the most exciting for me to do with my students. I enjoyed hearing from my classroom parents how their child would go home and tell them all about Dr. Seuss and the lessons we had learned through his stories. I am thrilled to have this collection of books and I look forward to teaching my future students all about Dr. Seuss and the lessons we can learn from his silly yet, enriching books. Thank you again for your continued support!”

A Love of Reading
Funded Oct 1, 2014Thank you so much for your donation toward our author studies books written by Kevin Henkes, Patricia Polacco and Chris Van Allsburg. The students were so excited to open up every single box full of these new and exciting books. What has started out as a simple way to introduce the students to new authors has turned into a passion for reading. I am so pleased to see how these author studies have encouraged the students to read different books and to challenge themselves to become more independent readers. Thank you again for your continued support.”

Mrs. C's Wishlist
Funded Jan 30, 2014Thank you so much for your generous gift toward the purchase of an iPad for our classroom. The students were so excited to receive the iPad! They couldn't wait to use it. We first used the iPad to research facts about Colonial America. We used this information to put on our annual Colonial Fair. It was a great day full of crafts and yummy food!
Students have really enjoyed using the iPad for research projects (like the Colonial Fair, Name Essays, and States PowerPoints), skill reinforcement, and taking AR quizzes. It is so nice to have technology easily accessible for the students. Most recently, we have been using the iPad to research information on the 50 states for our states project. Some students have even enjoyed playing games that reinforce math and spelling skills, as well as learning our 50 states and capitals.
These projects have helped to boost my teaching because the engagement of the students through the use of technology has encouraged me to come up with more hands on and technology based assignments. The students are more motivated to work on projects that are technology based and are interested in learning all they can through internet research. It is also helpful for those students to use the iPad who do not have access to technology at home.
Thank you again for your continued support and generosity.”
