Social-Emotional Learning Picture Books
Funded Mar 1, 2021My students and I send you a huge THANK YOU for continuing to support us during these challenging times. By supporting our projects, you are putting so many needed books in our children's hands. We are forever grateful for your support! This was another special book project and a much-needed one, especially during these times.
I am excited to incorporate these books into my lessons! It has become very apparent to me while teaching that social-emotional learning must take place. Most children don't come equipped with these skills. My students had much to say while I read the story, "Be Kind" to them. They began to give examples of when they felt sad or let down by a friend. I love that these books will allow my students to express their emotions and continue our social-emotional learning.
In the pictures, you will see my students very excited to receive new books! Behind the mask, they are smiling from ear to ear because of your kindness and generosity! Every time a box arrives with books, I make sure and show it to every class throughout the week. They love when the books come straight out of the box! Hearing them say, "yay" and "wow" will never get old. Thank you for helping me continue to build a love of reading. We send many hugs from Texas! Much love and respect!”

Funded Jan 19, 2021Thank you so much for putting smiles on all of my students with these brand-new books! This was a special project because the books chosen are a reminder to my students that they are loved and that they can do hard things. The books I chose feature characters that my students know and love. During the month of February, I read these to my students in grades Pre-K through 5th during their library class. After each read-aloud, we discuss the book and I ask my students comprehension questions. They enjoy our discussions so much!
When the books arrived my students were so excited! They said, "wow" and "I love them!" They always ask who sent the books, and I make sure to mention our donor's names. They feel so special knowing someone would donate to them. They immediately wanted to check them out, but I still had to catalog and process them before they could. I stayed after school to have them ready for them the following day. They send many thank yous and virtual hugs!
Our library is in need of new books because a lot of books did not get returned, therefore I had to mark them as lost. I am slowly but surely getting more books into our library and most importantly into my student's hands. With your help, I can continue to build a love of reading. Thank you for your contributions and for making a difference in their lives! I hope you will continue to be a part of our journey. My hope is to have a fully stocked library when all students return next school year. Stay safe and take care!”

Funded Dec 1, 2020My book club students were so excited to receive these books! They had asked for this sequel ever since reading the first one. This school year my book club looks very different since most students are virtual. I was able to use these copies with my 3rd-5th graders that are in person. We read the novel together each time we met and had such great conversations. I enjoy using novels to teach skills such as analyzing characters, theme, main idea, and inferencing. After each chapter, they wanted to read more!
Books are such a treasure in our library and it makes my heart happy when I hear my students say they love to read. We finished the novel this week and they told me they wished it hadn't ended. I plan on using the novel next school year when all my other students return to school. In the pictures, you will see them share their excitement for receiving and completing the novel. They send virtual hugs and a huge THANK YOU!
Our school library needs lots of new books, so I am beyond grateful for your support. Thank you for your contribution and for making a difference in my student's lives! I hope you will continue to be a part of our journey. Take care and stay safe!”

Funded Dec 1, 2020It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and generosity to give during this difficult time. This convertible hand truck has made a huge difference in the library as I pack up all the books. I can proudly announce that all the books have been boxed up and taken to an empty classroom for the renovations to begin. I plan on using the balloon inflator pump when I have special celebrations in the library and for our grand opening next school year. I cannot thank you enough for believing in me and my students.
The convertible hand truck is super lightweight and easy to use. As students visited the library for class, they asked what it was and I showed them. I told them a super kind and generous donor wanted us to have it in the library to help me move things around. They were amazed at the fact that it turned into a dolly and flatbed. They send a huge thank you and virtual hug and wanted to take some pictures for you. Thanks for making this possible!
It is such a blessing to have your support, especially during this time of uncertainty. I am super glad that I still get to see some students in-person to help bring a sense of normalcy to my first year as a Librarian. I will forever advocate for my students and libraries. Thank you for your contribution and for putting smiles on tiny humans and their Librarian who loves reading and learning. May you be blessed with more! Stay safe and take care.”

Funded Dec 1, 2020Hooray for books! Thank you so much for believing in my students and our project. These graphic novels have been a huge hit! Even the most reluctant readers love to read graphic novels. It has given them a sense of accomplishment which truly makes my heart so happy. Providing them with a variety of graphic novels helps them branch out in their reading habits. I love that they also teach kids new vocabulary, reading skills, and life lessons.
From the minute these books arrived, students wanted to check them out. Some were replacements, but most were new and they couldn't wait to get their hands on them. I had to catalog and process them first, so I promised them they would be ready after our Winter break. In the pictures, you can see a student finally happily reading two of the books she was able to check out. I wish I had enough for all who asked but I promised them I would continue to create projects for more. They were thrilled and send a huge thank you!
My students need me to advocate for them and I am more than happy to do so. We appreciate donors like you who are cheering us on. Thank you for putting smiles on my student's faces and their Librarian. Sending hugs from TX! May you be blessed with more! Take care and stay safe.”

Funded Oct 13, 2020Thank you so much for your continued support of me and my students Mr. Chuck Jones! The funding of this project was possible because of your kindness and generosity and the support of an anonymous funder who gave a 5X match! The LED message boards have been a huge hit! I requested these to get students excited about Kids Voting USA which takes place every year at our school.
I am the new campus liaison for our annual event and these boards sure helped get students excited to vote the minute they walked into the library. Even the students learning from home were in awe of these beautiful LED boards. Our library is getting renovated this year and these boards will make such a positive difference in our library. I will be displaying messages on them such as our top readers, author spotlight, or other library events taking place.
This could not have been possible without your support. As you can see, my students were glad to take some pictures for you. They were thrilled to have such new additions to our library from their new librarian. Thank you for helping me make 600 students engaged in learning and reading. Most importantly, thank you for caring and believing in my future leaders! Stay safe and take care!”

Funded Sep 10, 2020Thank you so much for allowing me to access a huge library of resources for me and my students! With my Teachers Pay Teachers gift card, I have purchased resources for my students at home and in person. I have even purchased materials that will help me organize the library. All of the resources have helped keep my students engaged!
We currently have most students at home virtually, and about 150 students in person that range from PK-5th grade, who don't have technology or internet at home. Learning still takes place online either synchronous or asynchronous. It has been challenging, but thanks to your kind donation, I have purchased resources that my students enjoy. During the month of December, my lessons were focused on winter so I purchased some resources that are tailored to each grade level. In the pictures, you can see where my students and I played a game of, Would You Rather December Edition. They had a blast! My students absolutely love to draw during library class, especially because there is not an Art teacher on campus. I purchased some directed drawings that students could work on with me or independently and they have been a huge hit! I read, Gingerbread Man Loose in Christmas to my students and then they drew a gingerbread man/woman. You can see some pictures of my students in person and at home. During an asynchronous class, I assigned my students the typing practice gingerbread house activity. They were so creative with their gingerbread houses, too!
This would not have been possible without your support. I will forever advocate for libraries and my students. Thank you for your contribution and for putting smiles on little humans and their Librarian who love reading and learning. May you be blessed with more! Stay safe and take care.”

This Is How We Roll
Funded Sep 16, 2020It is with great gratitude and appreciation that I submit this impact letter to you for your kindness and generosity to give during this difficult time. This brand new book truck has made such a difference in the library. I have been busy cataloging new books for my students to read and this beauty holds more than enough books to help me shelve them all at once. I cannot thank you enough for believing in me and my students.
The book truck took a long while to arrive because the one I initially wanted was out of stock. I had a hard time finding one that was as affordable, but I finally did. It was all worth it once it arrived! We currently have about 150 students in person and when they walked into the library they immediately noticed the new shiny book truck. They said, "wow" and "it's so pretty". They even wanted to push it just to get a feel of it. I love how it is so light and not heavy and bulky like the wooden one you see in the pictures. Once things go back to normal, I plan on having library leaders, which are students that will come to the library to help me with tasks. One of those tasks will be to shelve books, since I don't have an assistant, plus kids love to help! This book truck will be so easy for them to move around. We are absolutely in love with it!! We thank you so much for making this possible!
It is such a blessing to have your support. I will forever advocate for libraries and my students. Thank you for your contribution and for putting smiles on little humans and their Librarian who love reading and learning. May you be blessed with more! Stay safe and take care.”

Funded Aug 30, 2020It is with great gratitude that I write this impact letter for your kindness and generosity to give during this difficult time. I initially requested an extra monitor to help with remote teaching however, it was out of stock. Instead, I ordered some replacement items to continue to help me and my students during distance learning, which have been amazing!
This year has been difficult, to say the least. We currently have most students at home virtually, and about 150 students in person that do not have technology or internet at home. Those students that are in person do get to visit the library for class even though it is online. I spend Monday-Thursday visiting with my Pre-Kinder through 5th-grade students online. The laptop stand is amazing! It has a huge range of angles which helps my posture so much. For those students that come to the library, I will present on the big screen in the library and use the wireless presenter so that they can follow along. The power strip with an extra-long extension cord gets used every day by my students because they need to charge their device at times. I'm so thankful because the one I used to have only had one outlet. The gooseneck tablet holder gets used whenever I read a physical book to my students so that they can see the pages much better! So many amazing tools that are needed for success and we appreciate you!
Thank you for your contribution and for making the world a better place. Donors like you make it possible for me to do my job efficiently, and I could not be more thankful to have your support. This would not have been possible without your help. May you be blessed with more! Sending hugs from TX! Stay safe and take care.”

Funded Aug 12, 2020I am so very grateful for your continued support and generosity to provide my students with the tools they need for success. Technology is what it is all about today and my students need the proper tools, accessories, and knowledge to be successful. When I first walked into the library, I saw that it had many needs and one was new technology. The desktop computers were so outdated that they would no longer update. Students come to the library to read books, ebooks, research, work on online projects, and so much more, so I knew laptops were important for them.
This year has been difficult, to say the least. We currently have most students at home virtually and about 30 students in person that do not have technology or internet at home. Those students that are in person do get to visit the library for class even though it is all online. I have been able to acquire three new laptops for the library thanks to generous donors like you. My students were so excited to see the new laptops in the library that they wanted to take pictures. They send hugs and a big thank you for your support!
My library is going to get renovated this school year and I am super excited to have a new flexible space for my students. These laptops are a great addition for them to use while working independently or collaboratively. Things are different at the moment, but I have faith that all will be back to normal soon. Thank you for believing in my students and our project because this would not have been possible without your support. May you be blessed with more!”
