New Document Reader = Enhanced Learning in Kindergarten
Funded Oct 17, 2012Thank you very much for your generous donations towards our class project for our Document Camera Reader. Along with my computer Laptop and Multimedia Projector, which were also generously funded through Donors Choose, my students have been actively engaged by pointing, tracking and reading stories that have been projected on our screen via our Document reader. This is important because my English Learner students need many visual cues as they acquire a second language.
My students have also been able to identify and label various graphic organizers that are aesthetically projected on our screen to assist and engage them in the writing process.
I cannot emphasize enough the importance of incorporating a Document Camera Reader into my everyday instruction, and for this I give my heartfelt thanks.”

New Projector = Enhanced Academic Learning in Kindergarten
Funded Oct 10, 2012I feel extremely grateful for your generosity in helping fund our class project for our new Multimedia Projector. With the help of our document reader, which was also funded through Donors Choose, my class has been actively engaging in daily writing and phonics lessons, which are projected for all to see and follow as their fellow peers demonstrate with much pride and attentiveness.
Our new Multimedia Projector has made it possible for my English Learner students to interact with various educational programs, PowerPoint presentations, and researched topics via wireless Internet which fully engaged them visually, tactically, rhythmically, and spatially.
Thank you for your kindness.”

Funded Apr 28, 2012Thank you very much for donating to our class project. My students greatly appreciated and were able to share with their families the contributions of many fascinating leaders form various countries. With the paperback biographies as part of our library collection, my students are able to revisit notable leaders such as Dr.Martin Luther King Jr., Cesar Chavez, Rosa Parks, and others who have positively impacted our global society.
The school-to-home organizer has helped my students share various biographies with their families as many can relate to similar challenges they have overcome in the past. These books are important because our classrooms do not have an adequate variety of library books on diversity due to the lack of school funds.
Thank you again.”

Funded Feb 27, 2012Thank you so much for donating to our class project. My students were thrilled with excitement when the boxes of art supplies arrived to our classroom. The dot art paint and tempera paint art pencils were extremely popular and put to good use, when I asked my students to draw a picture of their favorite flowers and plants. My students enjoyed sculpturing their favorite fruits and vegetables with the colorful pliable play-dough.
The easy punch alphabet encouraged my students to illustrate initial sound objects of the letter or letters they punched as they created flashcards to take home and practice with their family.
Unfortunately, due to school budget cuts these and other art supplies such as glitter glue, wiggly eyes, colored feathers, colored stamp trays are not purchased and over looked. Thanks to you, my students are motivated in writing and reading, knowing that they will utilize various mediums of art to express themselves creatively. My heartfelt thanks.”

Enhancing Literacy through Technology
Funded Jan 28, 2012Thank you so much for your generous donations. Your contributions have made a world of a difference in how we access thematic information via Internet with our new computer lap top in our classroom and has made leaning fun and enjoyable for my Kindergarteners. Together with the ELMO projector, our new computer laptop and external speakers have engaged my students in learning from various online Science and Social Studies theme Power-Points in both Spanish and english languages.
With all of the budget cuts that schools are currently facing, materials such as english and spanish dictionaries and books are not accessible. However, with internet access my students will have information about any topic at their fingertips. The flash drive has allowed us to save student work and computer ink has provided students to take work home to share with their families.
Thank you again for your donations. ”
