Books Needed for Our Class Library!
Funded Feb 21, 2023Room 18 appreciates your donations to add new books to our library collection. The new books are current so students will be encouraged to read them. Our school promotes reading books for pure enjoyment of reading. As a Reading teacher, I usually focus on teaching children how to read, but I want to also focus on teaching my students to also learn the pleasure of reading books for their own enjoyment. Now that our classroom library has current and new book titles students will have an opportunity to choose a book of their interest to read.”

All About Flexible Seating!
Funded Aug 23, 2022The donations you made to my class was well worth it! Room 18 appreciates your kindness and how much you value student capacity and learning. There are many learning styles that my students have in order for them to make sense of lessons and content. Some of my students have a great need to move and fidget while they learn and work. With your donations my students can do just that. They are able to bounce and rock in their wobble chairs without being much of a distraction. My students love the wobble chairs and they even bicker about who gets to use the wobble chair next. Thank you for supporting my students!”

Funded Jun 16, 2019Room 32 is so excited to be able to use their iPads everyday now that they can charge their iPads as needed. My students are logging on and using educational websites that are enriching and engaging. I love how fast my students are learning to use the Notes app to send me their answers to word problems or an illustration to a book they read. The use of technology is so important nowadays and I'm so excited that my students will become computer literate. This is made possible through the charging station that you have donated. Thank you!”

Funded Mar 4, 2019Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! My students truly appreciate all the educational games and other resources they received from you. My students learn using various modalities and the most effective modality is tactile/hands-on learning. They fully immerse themselves in learning when it is presented to them in a fun and engaging way.
The math games are a great way for me to support my students learning after I have explicitly taught math lessons. They are eager to play the math games and practice their math skills.”

Shaping the World of Students through Books
Funded Aug 22, 2018My students and I appreciate the diverse books that were donated to our class. It is really important for my students to identify with book characters that look like them. These diverse books and their topics create a wonderful reading experience for my students since they can also relate to the topics of the books. It is important for me as their teacher to expose my students to books of all cultures, ethnicity's and races. My students need to see themselves represented in positive ways in the books they read. My goal as their teacher is to provide diverse exposure to my students.”

Funded Jul 12, 2017My students were so excited to cozy up with a book on the new classroom rug. Now that we have a rug we started to gather on Monday mornings for community circle time. We usually discuss how their weekend was and other things students like to share. The rug has become their favorite area to play educational games. We also work on the rug during English language arts and during Math. The rug has become a wonderful and comfortable meeting area for our class. My students love to use the rug during Read to Self time. I allow about 5-6 students to sit there for this quiet reading activity. Everyone is always eager to I get called upon so they can get a chance to sit on the rug for quiet reading time.”
