The materials for our project includes resources to expand learning to the whole child. They provide the perfect solution to provide incentives for success with our current Reading Buddies Project. Integrating reading with physical play, social skills, and motivation, in and outside the classroom. Students' participation as a Reading Buddy will be individualized meeting their needs for enrichment and remediation simultaneously. The Reading Buddies program will also enhance family involvement and reward students with leadership skills and independence. We plan on extending learning even further with guest readers, cooperative learning, and partner projects. The students will be involved in their learning from the start, owning this project and setting goals. Continuing the campaign for encouraging lifelong learners in 1st graders this year, we want them to stay engaged always and grow! Thanks!
