  • Making Reading Inclusive and Fun for Everyone!

    Funded Sep 19, 2023

Thank you so much for taking the time to donate to our classroom. The students are so excited for their new books and classroom supplies. It has helped us meet our reading goals and become better readers.

We appreciate you so much for you support of our classroom. We love to continue to learn and can't wait to continue to make our way through our resources. We have used them to help with our independent reading goals along side our reading lessons. This has helped us become more culturally and emotionally aware. Thank you so much for your support.”

  • Ms. Uvino's 5th Grade Classroom

    Funded Jan 26, 2023

Thank you for your support in our 5th grade classroom. The students loved and used our flexible seating throughout the rest of the school year. They were beyond excited to have a variety of new options to use within the classroom.

Also, we loved and used our math manipulatives! We used them to help us better understand complex concepts and build our conceptual understanding of mathematical concepts. The students were so happy and thankful for this support, so thank you!

I plan on using all of the supplies again in my classroom in the 23-24 school year. Thank you so much again for the support as I continue to build the best learning environment for all of my students!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Uvino

  • Ms Uvino’S 5th Grade Class

    Funded Nov 6, 2021

Technology has and continues to help my students learn. The iPad helps us stay organized and we use it to create movies and videos. The students love working with updated technology and enjoy being creative. It is nice to allow all students the ability to access an iPad and use it to create, learn, and explore.

The novels have also been a huge hit in our 5th-grade classroom. Students love reading and exploring new novels. They have been excited to read books with main characters that are similar to them as well! This has helped foster a love of reading!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Uvino

My students have very limited access to not only technology but also books of their own. Novel selection is important so that my students feel they can relate to the content and characters. It is important for me to limit their restrictions and provide them with the tools they need to learn. By donating to this project, you will help to put books in the hands of students who might otherwise not have access to the magical worlds that reading can open up. The iPad will be used by both teacher and students. It will help give students access to technology they can't afford to use on their own. They will use the iPad to create projects that connect to our SMARTboard so that they can present to the whole class. This will also allow me to track data easily and better assist my students and their needs. Students have limited access to books in general, especially those that have characters from diverse backgrounds. The books I've chosen will be used for novel studies to expose students to multiple 5th grade standards while learning about characters from a variety of cultural backgrounds.
