  • Reinventing Math Intervention

    Funded Sep 26, 2024

Thank you for your generous donation for our math intervention project. The items have been so helpful from our learners, whether they are in 1st or 5th grade.

The Divided Serving Tray with Lid and Handle, 8 Compartment, Snackle Box Container, has been such an amazing organizational tool for our math unified cubes. Students can easily bring the box to their table and pick their favorite number to use when making numbers up to 20.

The Post-it Super Sticky Notes, 4x6 in, White with Blue Grid Lines, have been so helpful for our older students when making area models or adding numbers with decimals. The sticky notes can be place on workbook pages or classwork to show work.

Thank you for your continued generosity to projects like ours!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Tynan

  • In Our Friendship Era

    Funded Aug 14, 2024

Thank you so much for your generosity in donating to our friendship bracelet making project. The students have now started a club to create bracelets as we listen to Taylor Swift, "So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it," Taylor Swift.

This continues to be one the most exciting activities for our students. The boards have been so helpful in assisting the students in measuring (measurements are printed on the board in both inches and centimeters for easy conversions) and creating patterns (AB, ABC, etc.) with colored beads. Additionally, students have created positive messages using both the letter and number beads for family and friends of our school community.

Thank you again for your continued generosity and support!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Tynan

  • Back to Basics

    Funded Sep 8, 2024

Thank you so much for trusting us with this great addition to our small group intervention room. We see over one hundred students daily and these items will be so helpful as we work in cooperative groups in math. Thank you again for blessing us with this most amazing gift.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Tynan

  • On the Math Path

    Funded Jan 16, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to support our math students. Math is not always the easiest or most fun subject for students and these items (math notebooks and Number Path Rekenreks) will help ease the difficulty and bring smile to multiple groups of students receiving extra support.”

  • Dominating With Math Games

    Funded May 9, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our math project. Students have been using the items since we received them.

Students can now better use their curiosity to explore mathematics in so many new ways. 1st graders use the swat game to solve equations using addition and subtraction equations. 3rd and 4th graders play BINGO as they solve multiplication (aka repeated addition) equations. 4th and 5th graders have been use the fraction cubes to make equivalents and to add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators.”

  • Shaking Up SEL

    Funded Aug 12, 2022

Students had such a wonderful time creating, using and sharing their new sensory bottles. It was a multi-part project that bought smiles across our school.

Let me share the process. First students filled bottles with water. Then they filled the bottles with glitter glue and a pinch of a favorite color. Students waited overnight for he glue and glitter to settle. Then they choose a food coloring to add and another pinch of glitter. I glued the caps on and we waited.

In celebration, students used the bottles as part of our meditative practice.

Thank you for bringing this joy to our students.”

  • Unified Young Readers Book Club: Inclusion & Acceptance

    Funded May 5, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our Unified Young Readers Book Club. Students in grades 3 - 5 are already enjoying the new books as we explore issues of inclusion and acceptance. The look of joy on their faces as I shared the books was priceless.

Students have been sharing their favorite lines and personal connection with the books in small groups as well as with the whole class. These include quotes, statistics on bullying, and even examples of the differences between being rude, mean and bullying.

We cannot wait to share with our incoming 3rd grade students next year.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Tynan

  • Social Emotional Learning via Meditation & Journaling

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our students. The students use the journals daily, even outside of SEL lessons. There is a group that takes the journals out to recess to write their feelings or to dry out their emotions.

As Jennifer Williamson eloquently pointed out, "Journal writing, when it becomes a ritual for transformation, is not only life-changing but life-expanding." The writing has become a ritual for these students, many who have had life altering events over the past year, beyond COVID.”

  • Bringing Math to Life

    Funded Aug 30, 2021

Thank you so much again for the support on our math project. Students have been using the supplied during our intervention blocks. The boards have been so hopeful to express their understanding of equations using number trees.

My classes have recently been expressing gratitude and the following quote expresses our gratitude:

""Each day I'm thankful for nights that turned into mornings, friends that turned into family, dreams that turned into reality, and like that turned into love." - Drake, Rapper”
