  • Learning Duo

    Funded Dec 23, 2020

Thank you for contributing to this project. The Surface Duo allows access as a camera or hand held tablet. We have used it to record and document events and learning transpiring during hybrid learning. The attached slide show will show signage during Black History month, getting ready to learn how to use a 3D printer and makerspace activity in the library.

This is a great tool since most kids only know Apple products. The Surface Duo gives all users the ability to learn and explore PC/Android usage as the navigation is different.

Thank you for supporting learning, technology in creation and public school children. God bless you!”

  • If You Can Dream It, Then You Can Draw IT

    Funded Dec 30, 2020

Thank you for funding a virtual visitor and artist. Now more than ever, it is important for kids to see art, illustrations and creativity. Having an artist talk to them and show the process is not only motivating, but also inspiring. The biggest take away and strong lesson was to never give up. Our visiting artist and illustrator emphasized how we will all come to obstacles but to keep pushing through them. And kids also got to see that what starts as a hobby or something fun can become an occupation or something you make money at.

Thank you again for making learning fun and interesting and stimulating library patrons to go above and beyond in their endeavors.”

  • Extending Visuals

    Funded Oct 8, 2020

Thank you for your donation. You are a blessing and I truly appreciate your support of public education and school libraries.

Having a second screen facilitates greater work flow, consistency and improves learning for scholars. Not only can more tabs be open and more work completed, but kids can see and we can implement different projects. Hybrid and remote learning can be difficult as we all adjust to new practices and methodologies. This screen eases that adjustment and helps to make the learning community a more fluid and flexible environment.

Thank you and God bless you!”

  • Design Dreaming

    Funded Sep 9, 2020

Thank you for funding design supplies and resources for the school library's makerspace. We are excited to use hands on things and create, design, invent. innovate and make. Nothing is as important as creativity. I always stress to the kids that they should stop consuming and start creating. Your generous donation enables us to do just that.

In the next few weeks, my scholars are physically returning and I cannot think of a better welcome back than to start a project with them. By learning design concepts and doing things trial and error, learning is more authentic and stays with people.

Thank you again and God bless you!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Wong

  • Less Background Noise = Greater Engagement

    Funded Sep 26, 2020

Thank for for the donation to enable no static lessons, help and support. It is so important for the library to be up to date and ahead of the times in technology. IT is also important to be a resource of help and support for the scholars and stakeholders. Your generous contribution allows all of those things to happen. Not having to rely on broken headphones and not having a mic are no longer an issue. You donation is facilitating learning, listening and research. I am able t conduct lessons and lead accountable talk. Though not in the building, lessons are being conducted smooth, seamlessly and where everyone can hear each other.

Thank you and God bless !”

  • Cricut Makerspace

    Funded Aug 22, 2020

Thank you for funding this project. I cannot wait to see how excited the kids will be when they enter the building in a few weeks.

Your donation enables them to be creative, print their own logos, designs and sayings on shirts, tumbler or anything else. I am excited to teach them design concepts, problem solving and new technology.

The cricut is a great tool and it will also help update their skills for utilizing new platforms, a working knowledge of connecting designs, transfer techniques and being creative all around.

Thank you for supporting school libraries, learning and creation.

    God bless you!”

  • If You Can Visualize It Then You Can Record It

    Funded Sep 12, 2020

Thank you, thank you , thank you!

The ring light and green screen will enable me to record better lit lessons and be more effective as a teacher. When scholars return in person, they can learn to use both to change background settings, make videos and PSAs for classes as well as start livestream of morning announcements and news.

Your generous donation is greatly appreciated. More importantly, it makes my heart sing that people support school libraries in a time when many budget cuts are being made.

Again, thank you and God bless you!”

  • STEM Innovators

    Funded Aug 22, 2020

My kids love to use their hands and you have blessed them with the opportunity to create, to make, to learn and design. Through this research project on learning of the way that female inventors have forged for them and with the cricut design tools, kids will be able to explore ways to add creativity and learn design throughout the library's makerspace.

The kids are so thrilled to get started and will be putting free time towards learning patience, design and resilience as they make mistakes, learn and finish their own conception from beginning to end.

Thank you and God bless you!”

  • #FillEveryShelf and Fill the Soul

    Funded Jun 25, 2020

Thank you for supporting additional books in the school library. Books with diverse characters, cultures and themes help to build a more inclusive learning community. It is so important to be able to see and read about others that are like you in books. It is also great to open minds and expose kids to worlds different from their. That will build tolerance, curiosity and love.

These books are the start in making a foundation of equity. For it is through education that we fight hate. Books carry ideas and inspire others to make the world better.

Thank you for your generous donations!

    God bless you!”

  • Making Graduation Memories

    Funded Jul 31, 2020

Thank you for the crafting supplies and frames to make decorating and graduation memories special and unique during this time of change, crisis. and newness.

This donations shows our kids just how much you care for public school kids' well being, both socially and emotionally.

Connection and feeling like part of a group and being recognized are so important to mental health. During this pandemic, many kids have felt so isolated, lonely and depressed. Your gift mean so much since it has helped make a graduation like experience which is usually a highlight in one's life.

Thank you again for making this project possible. God bless you!”

I am an 21st year school library media specialist in the public schools in an urban city school district. There are approximately 2,250 students that come through my library doors. I believe in setting high standards and stimulating a child through the use of art and technology to further develop academic skills. I believe that children need to be provided with opportunities to communicate, collaborate and create. Fostering a love of literacy and providing children with choice will build innovators, leaders and a culture of creativity. Support school libraries as they help to equalize the playing field.
