Our classroom is in desperate need of a comfortable meeting area where students can learn to listen actively and engage in a large group setting. Having a classroom carpet also produces a comfortable place for my students to expand their learning space onto the floor. Instead of sitting at desks, students are on the carpet learning together with their peers like a community. There’s something truly special about everyone sitting together as a group. Other benefits include noise reduction, safety benefits and lets not forget movement. Simply moving from their seats, to the meeting area, and back again incorporates some purposeful movement that gets the blood pumping, and the brains fired up for learning.
