  • Keep Us in the 21st Century

    Dear Donors,

    Words cannot express how grateful my students and I are by your generosity. Sometimes as a public school educator I feel very alone in the classroom. I do what I can with my own resources to provide for my students, but on occasion that is not enough. I submitted to Donors Choose to just try and get more supplies for my students that they need. I was so happily surprised by all the support shown by the Donors.

    The whiteboard pens and erasers I requested have been so helpful in the classroom. I use them to get a quick check of comprehension with different math skills I am teaching. The students love using all the colorful markers. I used to require students to bring their own, but not everyone is able to do so. I am thrilled with being able to give each student the supplies they need.

    I could not have done this without everyone's help and support!

  • Please Don't Leave Us in the Dark

    There are not enough words to express how moved I am by everyones' generosity to my classroom. The SmartBoard lessons we received are so useful in our classroom. Everyday, students are able to come up to the SmartBoard and interact with the day's lesson. We have used the interactive software to review previous days lessons as well. The lessons have made my struggling learners more engaged in each days lesson.

    Our school's budget has been drastically cut in the last year. Our funds to spend for each class has decreased to about $9 for the entire school year. Without your help and support, our students would have never have been able to get these resources. Algebra is such an important class for student success in high school. Algebra can be such a challenging concept to understand that having the visuals of the interactive software is immensely helpful for students to understand the concepts more clearly.
