Funded May 7, 2019We thank you so much for your donations toward our production of Lion King Kids! It was a wonderful success and could not have been possible without your help! We would just like to share a little information on what your donations helped us achieve and what is next for P.S. 116 and Disney Musicals in Schools!
The resources we asked for were utilized throughout the entire production. We were able to use our fog machine for our dangerous scenes with Scar and his hyenas. The lights and stands set a perfect ambiance for different scenes throughout the play (rainforest, dessert, etc.). The face paint and acrylic paint made our stage set and characters come alive and helped represent each animal in the show. All of these resources truly made our environment come to life and this would not been possible without you all!
The students were amazed by how much we were able to get for them and never believed we could receive all of the props and set equipment. Some of them have never used face paint before or had seen a theatre light stand. This motivated them to give the show all they had. And no one in the audience was disappointed! They, as well as us, were truly grateful for everything you all made happen.
This year, we will be working on the production Aladdin! Fog machines and light stand will still be utilized to set the mood for some of our scenes as well as flashlights and speakers. We will continue to work with Disney's Musicals in Schools and hope that we can share our new projects every year with you all!”
